Lake Minnetonka Orthodontics

My Dr. is phenomenal as are the majority of the staff. My issue is while I was getting my teeth digitally processed in the very first office, quite a few employees were talking about me. I could hear clear as day that I had called at 2pm the day before and left a message. They went on to say that I was called back and given an appointment the very next day and that is not how they work and I should not have been able to come in so quickly. They made several comments about this. Made me feel like I had done something wrong. If they didn’t want me the very next day, why offer me an appointment? I was in no hurry and made that clear during the call. Being older, it really didn’t bother me. However, had I been a teenager, it could have been hurtful. Teenagers can look at braces as social suicide and they need to feel comfortable in times like that. I truly hope no young person has to feel uncomfortable there. I chose to continue treatment as I didn’t feel like starting the process over again. Everyone else I dealt with is very positive and tries hard to make you feel welcome. It just wasn’t a good first impression

DO NOT go with this Orthodontist, especially Dr Carr! They never care about your health and why you truly need it. All they care about is MONEY. I’m gathering prove to file a complain with AAO, even a lawsuit. Learn from my painful story: I brought my daughter in at very young age (~7yo) during her 3-year cancer treatment (neuroblastoma) b/c her dentist noticed a future cross-teeth. My primary care at that time for her was her health of course, but we also knew we had to fix that teeth problem for long term. I considered waiting 2 more years when she completed 3year treatment and moved to 5year oncology monitoring plan to start doing brace so she feels much better with it. We aren’t doctors, so we counted on them to tell us what to do best for her considering her health at that time. When I brought her in, I told all of that to Dr Carr and the team, including my concern. But you know what, they didn’t even care, they told us come back after 6 months, and consulted us doing the brace right away, with the cost ~$4000. But, the worst is that even after 2years of doing brace, she’s 9yo now, her cross-teeth problem still exists, and it just came out in the same space of another teeth. WHAT? I came back ask them about that, they said my daughter is needed the 2nd phase to fix that teeth, and cost another $6,300. WHAT THE HELL? And what’s bad is Dr Carr knows nothing about my daughter cancer during our talk, while it is clearly called out in her profile in their system. This is what made me frustrated. All they say is Phase 1 was to make the teeth straight and beautiful, to prep for Phase 2 to fix the cross-teeth. DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO YOU? My daughter had cancer , why should I care about that? I cared about the cross-teeth problem and everyone knows it needs to be fixed. Why didn’t you listen to me ? If they care about her health, we should have waited for just 2 years to do bracing, then she would be 5year oncology monitoring phase, the cross-teeth come out so they can fix it (I just learn that it can only fix when it came out , WTH!!!) and she doesn’t have to do phase 2 . Right? After a long talk with them, they said sorry we didn’t know, you will have to pay to do phase 2 !!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Both my kids had their braces at Lake Minnetonka Orthodontist. They were so professional and also welcoming to all. We highly recommend them. I even went back at got a retainer from them to keep my teeth in place after years of not having one.

I was so excited about having my son get his braces here! Our family dentist spoke so highly of them, our first 3 appointments went great! Yet when it came time to make his appointments the women I spoke to hung up on me! I work in healthcare as a receptionist and I would never hang up on a patient, I’m an currently waiting to hear back from a supervisor to determine if we will continue to go here or find a different Orthodontic. I just can’t believe how rude she was!
