Park Dental Maplewood

I’ve had nothing but great experiences here with my regular dentist and the amazing hygienists. However, I was scheduled with Dr. Lindner after having an implant for a crown. He started to numb the wrong tooth. When I tried to tell him I had an implant, he actually told me I didn’t. The implant was visible, very expensive and a year long process, so you’d think I would remember. Park Dental referred me to the Dental Specialists (who were amazing!) and did the implant. I tried to explain this and he said “we don’t refer people there.” I said, “well that is concerning.” The hygienist had to step in and explain the situation and he walked out of the room. Finally, she came with the X-rays the dental specialist took just days before, of which he had requested I redo since he didn’t believe me when I said I had them done days before. Additionally, he couldn’t get the equipment to work and blamed the hygienist who clearly had nothing to do with it. The hygienist was using the suction and he said “it would work better if you actually used it.” - which I felt she was doing a fine job. She nervously laughed his continued condensing comments off the remainder of the visit. I had to see him a total of three times during this process, and I was increasingly shocked with his behavior. The things he said, the way he said it, were incredibly unprofessional.

Had my appointment scheduled months in advance they call me the day before stating they would have to get approval for cleaning from my insurance provider. my question is why wait until the day before to let a new client know these things. Definitely should’ve looked at the reviews first complete Waste of time

I have been a client of Park Dental Maplewood for the past 20 years. Unfortunately, over my past several visits I have experienced problems with scheduling and service provision. There has also been staff turnover. I recently had a procedure scheduled and was told, while I was in the chair, that it could not be completed due to a scheduling error (not enough time allotted). The blame was placed on the front desk staff. I think it is the dental practice leaders responsibility to make sure staff are trained. It is too easy to blame people who are the front office and making 25% of what a dentist makes. How you treat your support staff is often how you treat your paying customers. I felt like a number instead of a 20 year client. If you are looking for a practice, I would encourage you to consider other options.

The dental hygienist was really great. But the doctor... I’ve never seen a provider come in and out of the room faster than Dr Lindner. I had 2 visits with him because I thought maybe the first encounter was an off-day. When I asked him questions, he was dismissive or would respond in dental terms and expect me to understand. I felt like I had to communicate my concerns to the hygienist first, who would then "translate" my concerns in dental terms for him to consider it valid. He was nice, but I did not feel comfortable continuing with him.
