If you have any means to go anywhere else it probably would be a good idea. I got rated by Metro as 0 and also bought private dental insurance. They charged me a $25 copay (as a penalty, I guess) for having insurance, and also said because I have insurance the rating would not apply anymore at all, even for the balance not covered. Other dentists have never charged this copay. For each visit there is the $25 fee, and they have you come multiple times for the same thing. For example a cleaning was split into X-rays and "developing a treatment plan" on one day and cleaning on another, with a 3 month wait for each appointment. Yes that is a 6 month wait for teeth cleaning. For each appointment I have had to wait a half hour or more past the scheduled time and there is a lot of waiting in the chair too. I had a cracked tooth that could have been repaired if caught early. I correctly described the symptoms but they ignored this completely and didn’t try any tests for a cracked tooth. Another dentist did the same thing though. They don’t do emergencies and tell you to go somewhere else. When I showed up at urgent care the Metro doctor there called them to ask them to call me and give me an appointment but they never called. They don’t give out X-rays anybody can use, just a poor photocopy. "We give you that so the other dentist can take their own and not charge you, because you brought something." You can’t just call and ask for records to be sent. You have to physically go there and fill out a release form. When I had to suddenly quarantine for COVID I canceled my appointment with less than 48 hours notice and they didn’t like that at all. They said they would call to make me another appointment but never did. When I came back after a year because I went somewhere else they didn’t like that either and said I had to start over with the intake appointment and not get my teeth cleaned. They operate in their own universe and once you see somebody the work seems OK and they treat you with a good attitude, but the rest is really hard to deal with.
