Dr. Philip L. Michaelson

Their business AND the answering service they use are absolutely unprofessional. I called over two weeks ago and scheduled an appointment for this upcoming week. They advised me that I didn’t need a referral, and that that accepted my insurance. All of a sudden, NOW they need a referral, and they now don’t accept my insurance. Concerning the answering service: They left a voicemail that I neeeded to call them yesterday about insurance issues. I tried twice to get in touch with them, and today when I called, their answering service picked up. (They also picked up yesterday, but the first time I called, they hung up on me, and I immediately started talking when they were done introducing themselves.)They just kept saying they would have the office staff call back, without telling me they were the answering service. When I asked who they were, they said they can’t give me that info, and hung up on me. I call an hour and a half later, and the answering service is still picking up, and yet again I got hung up on because I asked them what their answering service was so I could also rate them. I’m glad I read your ratings and got the call I did this morning now, as I’ve decided to go to your much more professional and pleasant competition in the same building. It seems like they treat their patients with respect, and give the correct information.

Had my first root canal done by Dr. Michaelson a few weeks ago. I was absolutely terrified but he explained everything he was doing and he asked if I was okay often. I didn’t feel a thing during the procedure either! Then he called the same night to make sure I was okay, and his staff called a few days later to check in. Definitely would recommend him!

Let me just say, had I known about Dr Michaelson earlier, I would have dealt with so many of my dental issues years ago. I have feared having certain procedures done and I didn’t think I could afford a specialist. The cost for what I had done was the same as my general dentist. He was amazing. I was told that it might be tender for a few days or up to a week afterwards. It’s less than 24 hours and I have absolutely no pain. I know that is different for every person but I am amazed. I couldn’t be happier. He was nice, told me what was going to be happening and what to expect. He kept asking me through the entire procedure if I was okay. He did it quicker than my general dentist would have done it and he even called me that night to make sure I was okay.

Dr. Michaelson is very nice, and caring. He explains everything to you and checks often to make sure you are comfortable and pain free. His assistant, Sheila is super kind and caring as well. While the doctor was doing the procedure, she must have seen my body language of being very tense and put her hand on my shoulder for reassurance. This is a one doctor office that is exceptionally clean and pleasant. Everyone is very nice!

I had 4 fillings before at my general dentist and one had to have root canal treatment. I’m 16 and I was extremely nervous. I had heard nothing but horrible things about this procedure and that didn’t help my nerves. Dr. Michaelson did an amazing job. He explained everything to me, constantly asked if I was doing well during the procedure, and I was out in 40 minutes!! I recommend anyone who needs a root canal to be done to go to him! Everything was totally painless and they make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. Many are afraid of the shots but after topical gel, you don’t feel a thing!! I was in and out and feeling better than before.
