Lake Superior Dental Associates

We’ve been patients for decades. That being said, I’m terrible about being consistent with cleaning visits. It’d been an embarrassingly long time since my last cleaning. I developed problems with a tooth that wasn’t going away and was very painful. They got me in right away. Dr. Anderson spotted the problem and was able to fix it on that appointment. (This took a lot of schedule rearrangement their part.) Today, I’m able to eat once again. The whole staff was so kind. No judgment at all that it has been a very, very, very long time since my last appointment. If you’re looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Lake Superior Dental Associates.

I just had a root canal today and the novocaine did not work! They continued to work, occasionally giving me a break but I was in tremendous amounts of pain and could feel EVERYTHING. They showed no concern over my pain, I had tears steaming down the side of my face and eventually was sobbing. The dentist Jeff, just acted annoyed when I’d cry. He tried flushing out my root, (to numb it?) I don’t know what that means, but it had no effect. I felt like I was being tortured. I wish they could’ve closed my tooth and sent me to an oral surgeon. I’ve given birth with no epidural separating my pubic bone in the process and it wasn’t as bad as this. I have ptsd and this severely traumatized me. We are not in the 1800s anymore, nobody deserves to go through a root canal without being numb. I will never come back to Lake Superior Dental.

My wife and I had been traveling the USA by road for a few months when I begin suffering some dental problems far from home as we came to the Duluth area. We had very little time before traveling to our next destination and I was unable to find a dentist able to see me within the next 3 months! - until I contacted Lake Superior Dental Associates. They were very sympathetic to our time constraints and arranged an appointment within days. The entire team was informative and helpful and focused on my presenting problems. Dr. Bob Ryan listened to my concerns and desires and to my great wonder, immediately repaired four problem teeth quickly, painlessly and to perfection. I had never before been so happy with any dental care and was equally pleased with the reasonable cost especially in light of the urgency (for me) to have the work completed. My highest praise . I wish I could give five stars for this clinic as I have been a loyal patient there for at least the last 18 years or more. I have always received excellent care. But the last few years, every single one of my appointments has been cancelled and rescheduled by staff there for one reason or another. Every single one. It is getting highly frustrating. I don’t understand why this keeps happening to me. I am thinking about switching to another dentist. I have a very busy schedule and it’s very inconvenient when my appointments are constantly having to be rescheduled, especially when I have been such a loyal customer for so many years. I also have a medical condition that makes it very important for me to stay on top of routine dental cleanings/care every six months. Sometimes my appointments have been pushed out to seven or eight months in between due to cancellations and rescheduling on the part of Lake Superior Dental.

Everyone from the front desk to the dentist himself was very kind from start to finish. Wisdom tooth was causing me a lot of pain and they were able to pull it out the next day. The Dental assistant who helped me out was amazing and also great at what she does. Dr. Anderson seemed to genuinely care and even with how extremely busy he was he took the time to explain everything and answer any questions I had. I am lucky to have very good dental insurance so it only cost me $110 would have been about $500 with no insurance. On top of it all I barely feel any pain the next day.
