Shady practices aimed at confusing people into paying out of pocket for everything. I went in for a filling last July and confirmed that my insurance was in network beforehand and the person at the desk said it was. I had a bad experience with this place previously over insurance so had to make sure before the procedure. Now I have been hit with a $630 bill because they were actually out of network. When I called my insurance company they told me WAFD stopped taking my insurance the year prior to my appointment. Just be up front with people! I’m so disappointed by the total lack of accountability, but also shame on me for trusting a dental office.

My family has been going to West Asheville Family Dentistry for many years. They have the BEST hygienist, Tracey! She is very good at explaining what’s going on & giving me tips on surviving x-rays & cleanings. They always get me in & out in a timely manner.

Tracey and Dr. Lauren are great! I had been in pain for years, they diagnosed an infected root that other dentists had told me there was nothing wrong with. They aren’t in network for me anymore but I still go because of the quality of care.

Dentist sent me to emergency oral surgery twice and I was forced to pay for it . They don’t answer the phone or call you back here either. Had a crown put on and the dentist stripped the very expensive implant screw so my crown came out in my mouth while eating not once but TWICE.

Shady place. I’ve been paying $36 dollars for a membership for 4 years for early periodontal help… I did root scaling and planing in sept 2022 which I thought was covered by the membership and it was not. I was unable to pay it and recently I received a letter saying I would not be a patient there after 30 days if this debt was not paid. I noticed months following that I was still being charged. I asked if they could apply what I’ve been paying in membership fees since 2022 towards my balance bc $36 over 2 years is $864 and my balance was only $300 and they said no…. Is that not the entire point of membership is that it covers services you need but can’t afford all at once- hence paying increments over time? I called them on Monday and left a message to cancel my membership (no one called back) and then I see today they’ve charged me once again. I called and they told me I could wait four weeks for a refund or apply it to my balance!! Like didn’t I just ask for that and they told me no!??? This place is a sketchy, high volume turn and burn scam that doesn’t care about you, they’re making thousands a month from patients they don’t even see. Your money is better spent somewhere else.
