I really hate to be writing this review, as I’ve been a fan of Thornton Park Dental Arts for years and have always referred people here, but after 2 uncomfortable visits in a row, it feels warranted. (Shortened for char limit) My experience with Dr Angulo these past couple visits have been less than stellar. I scheduled a consult with him for front tooth discoloration, and later added to the appt that I found a new chip on my tooth (happened the day of my cleaning so I was concerned). I felt pretty judged the whole consult, he kept saying he wasn’t sure what I wanted even after I shared what I wanted. He made comments about other issues and I was open to talk about all of them, but then was treated like I was annoying for asking those questions. The lady helping was nice at first, but then acted annoyed in the end when there seemed to a disconnect. I asked questions so I could get appropriate quotes and understand what I was looking at, to plan what I could or could not afford. I felt a bit dismissed and judged by doc, but chalked it up to an off day and scheduled the tooth whitening he suggested. I got a quote for that, and they mentioned we’d deal with the chips after the whitening. Today I went in for the whitening; afterwards Dr Angulo came by and said again “I’m not sure what she’s looking for here” but this time spoke about me as if I wasn’t even there. I felt the same indifference from him as before but tried to power through and ask questions. I thought we’d be fixing the chips today, but he said we could do it in about 3 weeks after whitening settled. Fast forward to check out with the front desk & they’re telling me chips are cosmetic & insurance likely won’t cover. This is where my frustration boiled over. Each small chip is (potentially) going to cost more than the whitening to correct ($330-410). If I had known this up front, I likely would have chosen the chip repairs over the whitening. My chip repair was covered last time, so I asked some questions about this and they saw it was covered, but couldn’t provide any insight as to why. They said they’d submit it and see. I commented it would be nice in future if they quoted any subsequent charges up front, and the original girl that helped at the consult, clearly annoyed, said I should have got that estimate. She took a while to look it up and quietly noted to another person that it wasn’t scanned in (which I assume means I was never presented with it). She did not say anything further and no one addressed this. No sympathy, no apologies, just shrugs and stares. I’m honestly just so frustrated with my experience today and the initial consult. I feel like the doctor could not be bothered with me, was annoyed by my questions, and that I didn’t get important information up front. I wasn’t given any after care instructions before or after whitening (I had to call today to ask if they had any). I was not prepared for all the restrictions and am quite uncomfortable. My visit was 2x the time quoted as well so I missed several important meetings this morning. I felt judged and minimized by the doctor who I thought would be the best person to speak to about improving my smile. I can’t tell you where his disdain came from, but I felt like he didn’t understand my desire to have a nicer smile and was annoyed I wanted these “cosmetic” changes. It’s really exhausting to be shamed when you decide to improve yourself / your smile / your appearance. Let me just say that Adrianne (dental hygienist) is amazing and has been cleaning my teeth for years & she’s so considerate and friendly. I’ve always had good experiences with the other doctors (previously Dr Miller and then Dr Patel), before these past couple visits. I can’t confidently refer to this office anymore, and I’m doubtful I’ll ever return, unfortunately.

One of the best dental experiences of my 42 years. They had a previous treatment plan that they decided to hold off on due to improvement. They could have easily moved forward and ran up a nice bill. Honest and super nice to talk with. Very happy all around. Been going here since Dr Gill years back and love the changes

Everyone was very polite and respectful. I was walked through the issues going on with my teeth. Unlike other dentist I have been to I was asked what issues I would like to take care of first. I was very happy with my visit and looking forward to having my dental work done here.

Dr. Angulo, Carla and Michelle made my first experience at Thornton Park Dental Arts a positive and memorable one. They were all friendly, knowledgeable and took their time answering my questions. I have not felt this relaxed at a dentist office in a long time. Great job!

Had my first visit today and it was wonderful. Staff were very helpful and the doctor was very nice! I was walked through all steps and did not feel judge for work needed to be done to my mouth. Excited to start my journey with the office!
