I thought about this review for quite some time hoping to find the words to convey my gratitude for Dr. Preble and his fantastic team of angels. I'm still not sure I've found the words, I'm not sure there will ever be enough of them to properly explain the impact these beautiful people have had on my life. After numerous traumatic experiences with various dentists at twenty-two years old I had accepted the fact that I would never be one of those people who could smile freely in photographs, laugh without covering their mouth, or leave a dentists office without being in tears. I found a glimmer of hope in my first visit to Dr. Preble's office, one that only continued to shine brighter with each following appointment. Having sworn off dentist offices after being told there was, "only so much that could be done" for my smile and a painful root-canal as a child I knew my mouth was in a less than ideal state. Dr. Preble didn't seem to think correcting my smile was as hopeless as I had come to believe and when I admitted I anticipated having to have all of my teeth removed he reassured me that such measures would be unnecessary and that I would learn to love my smile again. The following week I had eight teeth removed (three of which were wisdom teeth), the bone in the roof of my mouth was reshaped and tissue was graphed from a different area of my mouth all of which, despite multiple arguments with my mother, I remained conscious for. To my surprise I had been terrified over nothing, I literally had NO pain whatsoever during the procedure and couldn't believe my ears when Dr. Preble let me know all of the teeth had already been removed. His team never left either of our sides and I was constantly reassured that things we're going according to plan and that I was doing great. Having never gone through any form of surgery before in my life a comforting hand on my arm or familiar voice from time to time made all the difference. My mom had gone to Dr. Preble many years ago and has never once let her faith in his work faultier, I went home with and woke up with no pain and wondered why I had ever doubted her word. Adjusting to my new teeth took time but never once did I have to face frustration on my own. Any time I had a question or concern Dr. Preble and his team were readily available and more than welcoming either by phone or in office if I felt the need to stop by. Never once was I turned away, had to wait, or worry. I understood I was in good hands and that this astonishing group of people loved what they did, it was refreshing to be surrounded by people who proved passion and patience not only existed but was valued. It's been roughly two months since the start of my dental endeavor. I no longer avoid having my photo taken, I don't feel the need to cover my mouth when I laugh, and not once have I left Dr. Preble's office with anything less than a smile on my face. I've heard Dr. Preble called a lot of things over the last few months, an artist, a professional, a master, incredible, talented, etc. the list goes on. The same could be said for the phenomenal women who work with him, to call them genuine, kind-hearted, or hard-working, would be an understatement. These lovely people have become so much more than random individuals in the dental field to me, they've become friends who in a short period of time reminded me of what it's like to smile wholeheartedly, and for that I am eternally grateful.
