Lake Wales Dentistry

The place is clean, Sophia, the technician that gave me the service is the best, the doctor is funny, there are parking spots for handicap. BUT, please, call your dental insurance before you pay a penny. If they wrongly charge you for a service covered, they won’t refund your money, until who knows when. On my second visit, they charged me incorrectly. I called them and my insurance, and we all agree that the service is covered. But they won’t refund my money after they finish the treatment (Maybe months in my case), and you need to consider the time the insurance takes to pay them after the service. If we all agree that the money I paid were charged incorrectly, I don’t see why they need to keep my money. My insurance called them with me on the line, and the answer was that. They will not give me my money back until the end, and they can’t give you an exact date. Immediately I cancelled my appointments and my treatments. This place for me is a no-no.

The two stars I am giving are for the hygienist I had as she was kind and amazing. If you are a young adult on your own for the first time I do not recommend this dentist at all. I fell behind in my invisalign, and asked how I should proceed with being rescanned for the program. He told me that because I was graduating my college and moving out of the area within the next year that I was wasting his time because he wasn’t making any money off of me - even though my insurance was paying for the visit and X-rays so there was money coming in - then proceeded to scold and talk down to me for about 6 or 7 minutes saying I was wasting my youth by “not fixing my appearance.” I was on the brink of tears to the point the hygienist was asking if i was okay the whole rest of my visit. He also kept pushing for me to go visit his daughter and his friends offices for services I said repeatedly I was not interested in. Not sure if it was just because I am a young woman, but his condescending demeanor and inability to speak to me as an adult was abhorrent. I hope everyone has a much better experience than me.

Dr Fellner and his staff are always courteous and professional. I never have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen. Plus, they do great work! I highly recommend their office for all your dental needs.

I will.not be going back to Lake Wales Denistry. Front desk personnel are in great need of learning how to deal with their patients, people skills are lacking. Blaming and misinformation appears to.be the mode of operation Phone service on the other hand was not so good. Called yesterday inquiring about medication. Had to leave a message. Called later and got the answering service. I was assured the message would be delivered no.later than this morning. I explained the need for faster service. I was told the would do their best. Called today, got the message to leave a message. For the amount of dollars paid yesterday, I thought I would at least get a return call

Sofi is great along with the doctor they get the five stars! My problem is that I still have $1,500 credit my insurance should completely be used before a payment is made. The work I need is already a lot, so why aren’t they using my insurance I’m in network and what I need done should be covered obviously not everything will be covered. I read all of the plan information so I’m really confused. Is this place a scam to not use the insurance company? Someone needs to explain this to me!!
