Took our boys here for their very first dentist appointment. Informed the staff both on intake forms and verbally that both had anxiety and one with Autism. They claimed to be experienced working with kids with special needs and understood, however that was far from our experience. The front desk person struggled with our insurance information. The hygienist was annoyed whenever the boys wanted to touch her tools while she was showing them everything and kept rushing them through the introduction. One of my kids was willing to attempt X-rays and despite intense crying, the hygienist kept on trying to get more X-rays and I had to demand that she stop. When my son with Autism was up, they refused to accommodate his anxiety by allowing him to sit on our lap or even just stand, and gave no alternatives to the traditional cleaning and polishing despite his intense anxiety. He became so incredibly upset and anxious they could barely even get him to open his mouth. This also occurred with the Dentist coming in. Needless to say we tried a new location and the experience was VASTLY different, and far more accommodating and presented multiple options for the cleaning process.

Dropped my daughter as a patient who has been coming since she was a toddler because they marked her record as “inactive”. No one reached out about getting her scheduled, or to let me know they would be doing so. There was no communication about setting up her next appointment, just dropped her after years of service with no regard. It’s not common knowledge to know how often your child needs to come in so it would have been courteous to at least reach out before just writing her off. Kids are already afraid of the dentist, so it’s frustrating we have to try to find someone new because of the lack of communication from the office.

We’ve been taking our kids here for the past 5 years. Dr. O Callaghan is great with kids. He explains everything in a way they can understand and works with parents to help them make decisions about the dental work their kids recieve. The dental hygienists are also really great and seem to enjoy working here. The office is always very clean and my kids especially love the ipad games in the waiting room.

I absolutely love Dr. O Callaghan, he is amazing with kids. My daughter and son both come here and he has never disappointed. He’s amazing with my daughter and she is autistic. He has been my daughter’s dentist since she was 2 and now she is 9. He has never made me feel like I need to go somewhere else. He does amazing with my son and he’s been taking care of him since he was 7 and now he’s 13. It definitely feels like a family here. Highly recommended and they accept Medicaid. I love it here.
