If you struggle with medical or dental anxiety, I would strongly recommend talking with other dental practices before coming here. While most of the staff were friendly and the aesthetics of the office are nice, those qualities couldn’t outweigh my anxiety and feelings being dismissed by Dr. Garduque in my treatment. He lacked empathy and understanding and seemed much more concerned about his appointment time-slot and liabilities than his patient. I’ve struggled with a medical phobia for most of my life and it had taken me over 6 years to find the courage to even make an appointment. I made sure to be as communicative as possible with the staff and doctor about my fears of certain procedures like fillings which I had an appointment for today. Because of my anxiety, the doctor recommended an oral sedative which I decided to forgo because I wasn’t comfortable with its effects on me and I also wanted to be able to conquer this fear without medical intervention. I had made it all the way up to the numbing injection when everything began to go wrong. I tend to get panic attacks which can spike my heart and lower my blood pressure which I understand can be dangerous for certain procedures. When I was injected with the local anesthetic, (which was my biggest concern for the filling) an adrenaline rush occurred which caused a small panic attack. I asked for a couple minutes to calm myself down as I’m very familiar with these adrenaline rushes and have developed some calming techniques. I tried my best to explain I only needed a couple minutes to get my body back to a normal state, but they wouldn’t listen and alluded that this was my fault for choosing not to take the sedative. I still tried to plead with the doctor that the worst of the procedure when it came to my anxiety was over with and even asked to have them retake my blood pressure- but he refused, told me he wasn’t going to debate with me and that next time I needed to be put under general anesthesia with another practice, and left. So now I’m left very distraught and completely numb on one side of my face for absolutely no reason when I had already endured the worst of the procedure. I understand dentists have the right to refuse care to patients if they are worried about the health of the patient. I also understand that I’m not the easiest person to work with when it comes to these specific phobias. But I know myself, and if he had listened to what I was saying and had given me a breather, I would’ve been able to conquer my fear of fillings today. I believe it was much easier for Dr. Garduque to end my appointment and send me to someone else so he wouldn’t have to deal with me instead of attempting to work with me. Moving forward I hope to find a dentist who can treat me with empathy, respect, patience, and overall kindness.

Dr. Levine is always caring and thorough when working on my dentures. It’s always painless and he always manages to work you into his schedule if you have a problem. Great office staff, always friendly and helpful when scheduling or checking you in. Nurse is always kind and patient if you have and questions. All in all, great dentist and all staff and I’d recommend them to anyone,

Dr James and team are always amazing, accommodating and very communicative when it comes to plans for treatment and appointments. They always welcome me with a smile and an attitude of “of course we can” which is so appreciated. They are always professional but also real people that anyone can relate to and feel comfortable while in their care. Thank you for taking such great care of me all these years, I appreciate each of you and all you do! Wouldn’t go anywhere else 😊
