Dr. Christopher H. Joy, DMD

I recently had a dental emergency, which was handled by Dr. Christopher Joy and his staff. Despite the urgency and my own anxiety, Dr. Joy’s careful examination, diagnosis and recommendations, were patiently and thoroughly explained. His experience, expertise and enthusiasm helped me to make decisions quickly, with confidence. It was clear that I had his full attention, and that of his excellent team, throughout the visit. Simply the best dental care, delivered with a deep commitment to the folks his practice serves. Very highly recommended!

Dr Joy is the best! I travelled from Maui to consult with him and he solved the issue, Found time on his schedule to complete the dental work so I could return home the next day. His office is spotless, staff is friendly and efficient. The dental assistants were most helpful and attentive. One gave me a jaw massage to alleviate stiffness - it was kept open for a long while.

I was strongly recommended Dr. Joy in the peak of Covid-19 pandemic when I broke a crowned tooth ( premolar) at the gum line. Since I was not a good candidate Dr. Joy did an amazing job in building a new premolar with a post and crowning it with the adjacent tooth. Since then I had other dental work done by him and I have been very happy with his work. He approaches difficult dental problems with the enthusiasm of a scientist trying to solve an important problem. Based on my recommendation my wife went to see Dr. Joy as well. She had a full set of crowns installed by Dr. Joy and she has been extremely happy with her new teeth. We are both very thankful to Dr. Joy and his team for the outstanding dental work they have done and recommend his practice without any hesitation.

I have been meaning to write this review for a long time. I have been going to this office for 43 years and cannot say enough good things about it. Initially I saw Dr. Joy’s partner until he retired, but have been with Dr. Joy for many years now. My dental care has been complex requiring many crowns and several implants. Dr. Joy and his staff are incredibly kind, professional, and expert at what they do. I shudder to think what my teeth would be like if this office had not been recommended to me by a dental hygienist in SF who had heard wonderful things from other hygienists working there. They are very careful about your comfort and appearance as well as your dental health. They communicate well and are thoughtful in regard to answering any questions you may have. I promise you, you will not be disappointed if you select Dr. Joy. His name is fitting!

Old fillings were failing and I had some cracks in two teeth. One cavity was replaced and a ceramic in-house machined crown was installed. Entire visit lasted ~3hr. Very little pain during the procedure. Crown is indistinguishable from a real tooth. No post procedure pain next day. All in all went really well with a great result. New technology makes fillings almost invisible. Dr. Joy and his assistant were great. I returned a year later (July 2022) for replacement of an old filling. Photo below shows the final result
