Sturz & Abby Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics

I absolutely love this dental office. Staff is always friendly and my boys ages 3 and 5 enjoy their visits. The dentist is always professional and kind with the kiddos. They have made it easy for my boys to enjoy going.

I love this office! Dr. Abby does a great job with my son; he always shows him what tools he’s going to use, explains what he’s doing, makes him feel comfortable, and my son is always excited to get a little toy at the end. When my son needed possible immediate dental care, they scheduled me quickly, were calm and attentive, and Dr. Abby even made a follow up phone call a few days later to check on how my son was doing. The receptionist is also always very kind and helpful. My son loves going to the dentist and I feel like he’s in good hands here.

I hate to write this review because we used to love this place! My 8-year old daughter went in for a procedure with Dr. Kurt Sturz, little did me know that it was going to cause post-traumatic effects. Apparently, she wasn’t compliant with the procedure and refused to open her mouth. He called in more help to hold her while telling her she was being rude for crying and acting scared, which is a completely normal response to fear. Without listening to her or call me in, he kept making her feel bad about crying. After the procedure was done, she asked to go to the restroom , which he denied until he was able to talk to me, her mother. He kept demeaning her telling her how disappointed he was in her and how dissappointed I was going to be as well. He also told her that she wasn’t going to receive any toys because she has been bad! Do I have to mentioned how badly handled this was? This whole event crushed my 8-year-old. When I finally got to talk to my daughter she was in tears, she couldn’t stop sobbing and she was so scared and scarred by this whole event . I’m so dissatisfied and disappointed in him. We, parents, put all our trust in professionals like him, specially when we are not allowed to go in with our children. My heart aches every time my daughter remembers this experience. I hope this never happens to anyone ever again.

We are very impressed with this dental office. The assistants and Dr. Sturz know exactly what to say to the kiddos to calm then down and give reassurance. I really appreciate Dr. Sturz being so personable and discussing the plan thoroughly. Office is clean and bright. It took 15mins for 2 teeth to be extracted from my kiddo. She had a somewhat disappointing first dental visit elsewhere so she was apprehensive. She came out of the exam room in a great mood. She even asked to return to get more teeth removed 😂 Highly recommend this practice!

So I have been to many different orthodontists and this is by far the best one I have attended. I am 22 years old and I had braces on for 8 years. I been going to Dr. Ricks for 3 years and he does an amazing job at keeping my teeth where they need to be. There has been so much improvement since I’ve been here! Also, everyone is friendly and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place for those in need of braces. Thank you Dr. Ricks/Staff for everything you have done!!
