I’ve been a couple of times to Stansell and am always impressed by their professionalism and transparency. I had a difficult cavity (in between my two front teeth) and got there much earlier (confused my appointment time) #mombrain and they accommodated me and also did a fantastic job. They are always really transparent on the pricing and what the breakdown will be which is really refreshing because we’ve had bad experiences elsewhere.

I have been a patient for over 6 years but at this point, this dental practice is not worth the headache. There is always an issue when it comes to billing. I routinely visit every 3 months to get my teeth cleaned. I had an appointment scheduled today for a cleaning that was booked three months prior. I received 5 phone call confirmations last week to confirm the appointment. This morning they called to inform me that I have a balance and if it wasn’t paid today, I could not receive my cleaning. I never received a bill from them via email or mail, nor did they mention a balance during any prior phone calls. Stansell is 100% not worth the headache. There are plenty of other dental clinics in the area.

Luz has been my Dental Assistant on my last several visits. She is very professional, personable, and knowledgeable about what she does. She has placed crowns for me and I always feel like it couldn’t have gone better. Luz and Dr Stansell are the best in the business imho. They really work with you on pain management and make sure it’s the best experience possible. I never feel rushed out the door like a number.

We have been going to Stansell Dentistry for several years now. At first, we were happy with the services received and the customer service provided was excellent, but this has declined over time--with the last visit being the final straw. One of the major issues is that we never see the same dentist for our routine visits. We have repeatedly asked to have some consistency with the dentist that we see, but yet we continue to see someone different every time we go. It would be nice to know the credentials of the dentists that we see and build a rapport, but this is hard when it is always someone different. I really liked the hygienist that cleaned my teeth and was willing to stay for her, but she is no longer at this practice. I was not made aware of this prior to my most recent appointment, and the 2 people who cleaned my teeth did not provide the same level of expertise nor patient care. It was actually a nightmare, and I left with a wet shirt and had to wipe toothpaste off the side of my face before leaving. I have never had this happen before with other providers. The final blow came today when I got a text that I had a bill to pay from my visit 3 days ago. I have had the same insurance and gone to this practice for a number of years, so this was unexpected. So, I called to find out the details and found out it was for x-rays that insurance did not pay for. This was very frustrating, as asked the person who took the x-rays about this before she took them, since we usually go in January but it was the end of December. I was concerned about the frequency of the service and insurance requirements. She said it would be fine. Well apparently it was not fine. I explained this to the person who answered the phone when I called today and his only suggestion was to call the insurance company. I asked if I could speak to the office manager or account manager and was told that they wouldn’t know any more and to call the insurance company. I told him that would wait for the EOB from the insurance company since it had only been 3 business days since I was at the office. He said that was fine but offered nothing more. I told him how unhappy I was with the experience during the recent visit, and he did not seem to be concerned. For these reasons, we will likely be looking for another dental practice.
