Discovering The Smile Shop after moving to North Carolina was truly a game changer for me. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was met with warm smiles and a welcoming ambiance that immediately put me at ease. The reception team was not only efficient and courteous but also made the check-in and check-out process seamless. Managing my appointments, whether scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling, has always been a breeze! The dental professionals at The Smile Shop are truly exceptional. They are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable in their field but also incredibly attentive and caring towards their patients. One thing that stands out to me is the level of personalized care I receive at this office. The dentists always take the time to listen to my concerns and answer any questions I have, tailoring their approach to meet my specific needs. Whether it’s a cleaning with Ameilia or any of the other hygienists, or a visit with Dr. Spriggs, Dr. Dolin, or Dr. Bonasso,... I always know I am in good hands!! And most importantly, I always leave with a smile. The welcoming atmosphere and the positive energy of the staff members never fail to brighten my day!

I have had a great experience here. The staff is super friendly, I enjoy my cleaning with the hygienist and the doctor is knowledgeable and non judgmental.

I had very uncomfortable experience here with scaling and root planing which took about 4 appointments. The dental hygienist called Amelia acted weird from the very beginning of treatment but I just waved it off giving her the benefit of doubt. When she gave local anesthetic, it was so painful that another doctor had to do it. I kept complaining that I was in pain but it came off as ‘resistant and uncooperative’ I assumed it was the calculus deposits causing the pain so I tried to bear the pain even with local anesthetic. After the cleaning had been completed, I came back after 5/6 weeks so I could do a fine scale and they would then check that my gums were recovering nicely. In spite of the fact that I mentioned to Amelia that my gums were still hurting, no topical anesthesia was added, she proceeded to insert the needle like object in my gums to measure my gums. I tried bearing the pain , but it was just too much and so I asked her to stop briefly holding her hand. She said she’ll get a doctor to see what they can do to help and guess what instead of being helped, I was given a dismissal letter. I was in pain, the least they could do was ask more questions or at least refer me to someone that could help. I understand Dr Adam’s (the owner) concern in taking care of his employees. But if doing that means dismissing actual concerns of clients and labeling it as resistance or uncooperative behavior, then I never want to be at such dental practice. Overall the receptionist seemed nice, but I had a traumatic experience

I need to update my review, this is the worst dentist in Durham in my opinion. They are nice getting you in and using up your insurance… then you see the who they really are in my opinion based on my experience undercover racist. Mrs Dolan, she did a crown for me, after the crown I was in pain and had to find someone else to try and fix the problem she created. Please BEWARE. This was my total experience.

I had a great experience! Everyone was so friendly and explained everything that was happening! The place itself was very up to date and clean. I appreciate the ability to book appointments online and the text reminders that are sent. The experience was quick and painless.
