I recently underwent the removal of four wisdom teeth at Dr. Waack’s dental clinic. Given my medical history with three autoimmune disorders and being immunocompromised, I expressed significant concerns about the risk of infection. However, despite my explicit concerns, Dr. Waack decided against prescribing antibiotics before or after the surgery. Unfortunately, my post-operative experience was far from smooth. By the third or fourth day, I was experiencing excruciating pain that was unresponsive to prescribed pain medication. Upon reaching out to the clinic, I was simply offered more painkillers. As days passed, the pain intensified, and I began exhibiting classic signs of infection for such as facial swelling, fever, and in my personal case, tachycardia. Dr. Waack’s lack of an emergency contact line forced me to contact my dentist for a telehealth appointment, where I was promptly put on antibiotics and advised to visit the ER if my condition worsened. In the early hours of the morning, the pain became unbearable, leading me to seek emergency care where I was administered IV antibiotics and pain relief. At my follow-up appointment with Dr. Waack, instead of addressing my concerns and the evident signs of infection, he dismissively attributed my symptoms to dry socket, not infection. He scheduled another appointment for two weeks later, which would be four weeks post-operation. In my most recent appointment, I brought my mother along to validate my experience. Unfortunately, Dr. Waack continued to talk down to us, asserting that his 30 years of experience outweighed the need for post-removal antibiotics, despite my specific cases needs. The negligence in patient care, coupled with the absence of an emergency contact, led to unnecessary suffering and additional medical interventions. I strongly advise against seeking treatment at Dr. Waack’s clinic based on my distressing experience and lack of proper medical attention.

Absolutely horrible experience. I was referred here for my oral extraction and they had an opening same day because of a cancellation. Never was told about the consultation fee, I get there and they never even looked for my X-ray from my referral, did another one. Then the doctor came in, I explained what happened and my anxiety surrounding dental surgery. He said then it would be easier for him if I was put under anesthesia which I expressed I didn’t want to do because I was breastfeeding. They also said it would be days before they could help me. I was in pain and exhausted, the scheduler never checked my amazing insurance instead told me I needed to pay half up front of the total cost. This seemed so shady. She then charged me 130 dollars for two minutes with the doctor. She said she would call to go over my insurance coverage the next day. Never did. I went somewhere else and got help same day. This office never called me to confirm, check my insurance or anything. What a chop shop. Don’t waste your time with the tacky lady who funnels you through the payment process like she’s selling you a used car.

Dr. Waack and his staff are incredible! I recently went in for a tooth extraction after a failed root canal (done by another office) that was also causing extensive sinus problems. Within 24 hours after surgery, all of my sinus symptoms were gone and I felt no jaw discomfort after the extraction. Lake Pine Oral Surgery is an outstanding, highly skilled office. I couldn’t recommend them higher!
