The best dentist I’ve been to. I was originally going to another dentist in the area ("trendy and modern, newest equipment", etc), but found out they spent most of their effort on trying to upcharge me on dental services or surgeries I never needed in the first place and every visit wound up with some extra charge. The last straw was reviewing insurance claims and finding out they were coding regular cleanings as something else to seemingly extract more money from the insurance system, I’m not entirely sure but it was extremely sketchy. So, we learned our lesson and found out that if the dentist lobby is outfitted like a trendy bar in Chelsea, then you’re probably being played. Dr. Hochenberg’s office is completely different, the staff is entirely welcoming, and honestly their procedures throughout the process are so well-oiled it’s insane. From the moment I walked in, Dr. Hochenberg and Susan perform full X-rays and a thorough cleaning in 30 minutes. Compare that to an hour, or even two when I was forgotten in the room at the aforementioned dentist... A+++++, I highly recommend this dentist. Nothing beats their genuine atmosphere. Skip the trendy dentist fad, please.

Dr. Hochenberg and Susan are the very best dental healthcare team I’ve had in my life. I first arrived at their office 15 years ago with a mouthful of faulty cosmetic dental work done by an inexperienced and overly ambitious dentist. I was in rough shape. Dr. H assured me that he could help me, and he did, 100%. I’m still smiling with his original work. He and Susan work so well together; they are patient, competent, and understanding. The office is responsive to emergencies and very accommodating. Dr. H explains all options and invites the patient to participate. My appointments have always started on time, and the value of his service is exceptional. Even when I moved 90 minutes away, I never considered changing dentists. Dr. Hochenberg will be my dentist for as long as he is in practice.

Best dentist experience I’ve had since I was a kid. Dr. Hochenberg is kind, helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and not scary. I love the feel of the office and I walked out feeling like I had found *my* dentist. I never felt belittled for not flossing (my teeth are good but yknow, I could floss a little more), I never felt uncomfortable, and I had a wonderful conversation with him and his assistant Susan throughout. The conversation did not feel forced, nor did it carry on into awkward spots when my mouth was wide open or something 😂 I felt like I was in great hands and I’m grateful to have found my new dentist!

I have been a patient for decades. The office is pleasant, well run but most of all is professional. Dr. Hochenberg is highly skilled. So are the colleagues he has referred me to. He is considerate about pain and explains things. He keeps my teeth and gums in good shape. I am grateful. Susan is also professional, also warm and competent. She submits to insurance for us which I appreciate.

Dr. Richard Hochenberg is in my opinion the best Dentist in Manhattan. I have been his patient along with my wife for decades. My grown children now seen him as well. We would be reluctant to trust anyone else. He is a consummate medical professional and expert Dentist who has always provided us with the best possible Dental care. Moreover he has a very strong personal code of ethics and is very caring. Susan his long time Dental Assistant is such a treasure as well, pleasant and warm and comforting. Being their patient gives me complete confidence that I am in the best hands and is a such pleasant experience as well.
