M. Kenneth Johnson, DMD

Sorry, meant to write this in April 2023… I have been coming to Dr. Johnson since I was little and he was located on highway 61. Now I am only in town 1-2x a year, but I make sure to make a check up appointment. I got an email earlier this year stating Dr. Johnson was retiring and was handing over his practice to Dr. Bowling. When I had my check up the other day, I recognized some of the original Dr. Johnson staff, and some were new. Kelsey did my cleaning and she was very efficient, professional, and always ensured I was comfortable, asking me if everything was ok the entire time. Then Dr. Bowling introduced himself and could answer any questions I had since taking over the practice. He was very professional and could address any of my concerns. As I normally come back to Charleston once or twice a year maximum, he was able to work me into his schedule. He also had a work around for ensuring I would have a new night guard by time I arrive next time by already scanning my teeth this session. Kelsey was my dental hygienist and she was very professional and also gentle with my cleaning as I have some sensitivity. We connected immediately as she was just in my hometown in Switzerland the week before. All current patients from Dr. Johnson are in good hands and new patients, too. I will continue to come here when I am back home in Charleston.

I don’t know many people who enjoy dental procedures, but the team at Bowling Dentistry certainly deserve kudos for their excellent patient care. I was seen as a new patient with a dental concern. They scheduled an appointment for me within a day, diagnosed the problem and discussed options with pros and cons for each option. The hygienist also cleaned my teeth. Yesterday Dr. Bowling and his team extracted a tooth, completed a bone graft and fabricated a temporary bridge. The procedures took less than 1.5 hours due to the efficiency and expertise of the staff. I am comfortably healing. This is the team you want for your dental needs!

My husband and I have been going to this dentist office for a long time. He started seeing them in high school, and I started coming to the office in college. We were very familiar with Dr. Johnson and the lovely staff there at the office. Once we received the news that Dr. Johnson would be retiring we were a little worried and concerned that we wouldn’t receive the same level of care. After meeting Dr. Bowling during our recent visit we decided to stay. He is a very nice and friendly guy! We also loved him because he was very reassuring and personable during our exams. Sometimes it can be a little intimidating to talk and get to know your Dr. but he skated right over the ice and made us feel comfortable with any questions or concerns we had for our visits that day. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bowling and his amazing staff! All the ladies are amazing but we love Kelly and Desi!!!!

First of all, the staff is incredibly friendly. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by a big friendly smile and welcome from Kelly. Every single person I saw, even if they weren’t directly working with me during my visit, stopped to say hello and introduce themselves. This was my first visit, so Dr. Bowling took time to meet with me just to introduce himself and get to know each other a little. He was very friendly and made me feel like a person instead of just a patient to be processed. Dr. Bowling was also very thorough with his examination, and made sure everything was explained and all my questions were answered. Some background: I’ve been to the same dentist in Greenville, SC for 20 years, so when I moved to Charleston I had to try to find a new dentist. The first dentist I visited told me I had 7 cavities that needed to be filled, which appalled me because I’ve taken care of my mouth and never really had any issues with my previous dentist. So I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Bowling, and I’m so glad I did. He told me that I do have 7 areas to monitor, but they were not to the point where he would fill them. I greatly appreciated Dr. Bowling’s honesty instead of going for the cash grab and doing unnecessary work.

I remember visiting Dr. Johnson several years ago. I was really nervous about my appointment. It was just for teeth cleaning but I was still very nervous. Since that first visit everyone has made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Johnson has worked on my teeth and has never hurt me in any way. My last visit from the appointment call with Desi and the check in with Kelly and teeth cleaning with Annette; all were fantastic. Everyone is so kind and treats you so special. The following day Dr. Johnson worked on my cracked tooth and I never felt pain and I am doing great. Tammy, his assistance was wonderful and explained everything to me. This is the best Dental office I have been to and I think Dr. Johnson is great!!!! ♡♡♡ Linda♡♡♡
