Not only is he a very skilled and accomplished implant surgeon, but he is also an engaging and caring person who made me feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout my treatment. My experience with South Island Periodontics has been extraordinary on many fronts. Firstly, I have quite a complicated health history and have needed several implants. Dr, Rubinstein has been so thoughtful in his execution of my care, always keeping in mind the complexity of my case. He is so kind and caring as well as highly skilled. Now, for the front desk. Everyone who works at the front desk is sweet, and pleasant. Getting an appointment is easy and not a hassle like many other offices I have encountered. A special thank you to Ashley, who endlessly works with my insurance to get me reimbursed. She does so with a smile. I have seen her tirelessly call and submit the same thing repeatedly, and she is so patient about it all. So in a nutshell, it is not easy to find an office with outstanding doctors and a friendly, competent office staff. I cannot recommend them enough.

I don’t think anyone would ever be excited about needing to go to a periodontist. I know many people are scared of a "regular" dentist and put off important visits due to anxiety or nerves. Hearing I had several pockets that required a visit to a periodontist was less than great news. I am so thankful that my dentist referred me to Dr. Rubinstein at South Island Periodontics. Both he and the entire staff at the practice were an absolute joy to work with. Dr. Rubinstein took the time to explain various options for treatment, and the front desk staff (Ashley) was wonderful about recommending how we approached my treatment in a way that was most financially kind to me. During the treatments themselves, Dr. Rubinstein was very attentive to how I was feeling, helped set expectations about what was going to happen ("you’ll feel some pressure but no pain") and offered encouragement along the way ("we’re about halfway done!"). Both assistants were very friendly and engaged in conversation with me during breaks, which was helpful to keeping my mind off the procedure. The day following both treatments, I received follow-up calls from Ashley to see how I was doing. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Rubinstein and the entire South Island Periodontics practice to anyone who needs the type of procedures that they provide, particularly for anyone who finds dental procedures nerve-wracking and scary. You will be treated with the most gentle and kind hands.
