South Shore Pediatric Dentistry P.C.

I took my son to this dentist since he was 3 years old. He is now 15 and I take him to the Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry in Sayville. Now the story begins, if 0 stars was an option, I would say 0 stars. Anyway, he had an appointment in May of 2021, and they told him that he needs to get baby teeth removed. That appointment was on May 24, 2021. Then they said that HE NEEDS BRACES! That was supposed to be an appointment on June 22, 2021 and we canceled that appointment, then moved to that Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry in Sayville, and the doctors said that he DID NOT NEED BRACES. My son was 13 back then and it was a good idea to move to that dentist. My son is grown and will be 16 in May (he turned 13 right before the appointments began). Dr. Gruber was nice but the rest of the dentists were very rude. Never again with this Dentist, we are done coming here, my son also hated it since we started. The front desk workers were very rude too! This office deserves not 1 star, 0 STARS!

This office is unaccommodating and rude. I pulled my son out of school because he had a tooth extraction scheduled. We forgot the needed paperwork at home so we ran back and ended up being 12 minutes late for his appointment. The woman at the front desk told us they could no longer do the extraction because we were late. Never in my life have I been turned away for being 12 minutes late to an appointment. After informing me they couldn’t perform the tooth extraction they suggested they take my son in for a cleaning. When I questioned this, the other woman behind the counter stated they want him to get the cleaning before they do the extraction because he was 6 months overdue for a cleaning. When I asked if they agreed that this would have been something they should have mentioned when I was scheduling the appointment, the woman shrugged. I walked out and told them we’d be finding another dentist… and I did.

I am so glad we ended up here! I called and got an appointment very quickly, within the week. This was my kids (aged 2.5 and 4) first visit to the dentist and it was a great experience. Dr. Gruber and his nurse Diane were literally amazing with both of my children. My four year old was a little scared and they made her feel at ease and so comfortable. They were so kind and patient. You can really tell that they love what they do and genuinely care about the children in the practice. The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful. We were in and out in about 25 minutes total, even with the practice being pretty busy (there were about 7 other children there at the same time). Thank you so much!

Today was my sons first visit at this office with Dr.Gruber and I cannot say enough good things! My son just turned 4 and is still a bit scared of the dentist and people looking in his mouth. Dr.Gruber and his staff were WONDERFUL with him. They are kind, informative, welcoming, and made the appointment extremely easy and comfortable for everyone. The entire staff from who I made the appointment with, the women at the front desk, the dental assistant, and of course Dr.Gruber are the most kind and professional medical staff I have ever encountered. My kids will go there until they are 21!

South Shore Pediatric Dentistry has been a favorite of ours for years. Both of my kids have braces (at the same time conveniently) and the office staff is always so nice and willing to work with you on just about anything. I had a terrible experience when I was a child with a few dentists and I did not want the same thing happening to my children. This is the only place I will take my kids to because of how comfortable they made them feel since their very first visit. We travel all the way from Riverhead and it is 100% worth it! Highly recommended!!!!
