I came to this dentist because my tooth was hurting when I chewed on that side. I had a large filling done in that tooth many years ago and over time, the tooth weakened and cracked. During my first visit, it was advised that since I had a crack in the tooth, a crown was put on so the pressure of chewing didn’t stress the crack in my tooth. After the temporary crown was put on, my tooth pain was still there with no improvement, but it got no worse. At that appointment, an impression was taken and sent to the lab for make my permanent crown. When I returned to the office to have the permanent crown put on, I sat down in the chair and the dental assistant went to pull out a tooth on the opposite side of my mouth. I was like woah, wrong tooth, that one isn’t the one we are working on. She just said woops, sorry, I would have realized that once I tried to pull it out... When I came into the appt, I let them know that things were no worse but no improvement either. The doctor walks in and says "so things are getting worse, are they." In my head I’m thinking, why doesn’t no one know what’s going on here? This one woman just tried to pull the wrong tooth out of my head and the dentist thinks my symptoms are getting worse when I have stated that there have been no improvements... Clearly no one knows what’s going on. When they tried to fit the permanent crown on my tooth, they apologized that the lab cut it too short and they would be doing me an injustice if they put it on my tooth, so they took a new impression and sent me home. When I came back to the next appointment, the same thing happened. The crown wouldn’t fit on my tooth properly and I also said that I wasn’t sure this was going to solve my tooth pain since I STILL had no improvement. They referred me to an endodontist, where I later had a root canal. When I came back to Chestnut Hills to have my permanent crown put on, the same thing happened AGAIN. They could not get the crown to fit properly on my tooth. Mind you, it is now the 4th time that I came back to that office to get this finished. Months have gone by and my tooth is still not fixed.. So I come back to my 5th appointment to get this permanent crown put on. It finally "fits" properly, but the tech said she was going to polish it before putting it on and she got distracted and never did, so now the tooth in my mouth is not smooth. I get home from the appointment and I check the tooth and there is a gap between the crown and my gums so my real tooth can be seen, which is what they said they didn’t want to happen because it would "be an injustice to me if they put it on like that." I called the office to talk with the clinic manager, Nick, last Monday, April 29th. He said he would give me a call back to talk about options to correct this and it’s now over a week later with no response from him. The ball had been dropped by the tech, dentist, and lab so how could he drop it AGAIN? It’s a shame because everyone at this practice is nice, but being nice doesn’t mean you get the job done properly, timely, or in a way that builds a trusting relationship between patient and provider. I could sense the uncertainty and lack of confidence the whole time people were working in my mouth which is very unnerving to say the least. I am now out a couple hundred bucks with a tooth that is going to cause me issues later on down the road because it wasn’t done properly and is now vulnerable to bacteria coming in through the margin. If Nick does ever get back to me, what am I even supposed to do? I don’t trust these people to work on my mouth so I guess I’m just out of luck here. 0/10 would not recommend!! I was patient and kind throughout this whole process, but now I’m just frustrated and feel extremely dissatisfied. Who even runs this place? Hellooo Nick? Bueller? Buellllleerrrrr?!

In for routine cleaning. Pleasant,, efficient staff. Up-to-date equipment, skilled and professional care. Of course, I don’t look forward to going to the dentist, but don’t dread going either!

Diana, the dental assistant, is absolutely outstanding! Her professionalism shines through in every detail of her work. She takes the time to explain each step of the process thoroughly, ensuring that patients are well-informed and at ease. I appreciated her transparency in disclosing any additional fees beforehand, which really helped put my mind at ease. Her timing with the suction was perfect, making the experience comfortable and efficient. Following her meticulous removal of calculus and cleaning of my teeth, I was left with a refreshing breath that I hadn’t experienced in a long time. What truly sets Diana apart is her kindness and patience. She’s always ready to answer any questions and ensure that I fully understand everything. Her commitment to patient care is truly commendable. I highly recommend Diana to anyone in need of dental assistance!

I’ve been going to Chestnut Hills for years and I am always impressed by their professionalism, expertise, and straightforward approach to communication. They are always very clear on what my options are, what the costs might be, and the role I have to play in my dental health. I can’t recommend them highly enough, they’re fantastic. Also, at my last visit, they did a 3-D scan of my teeth, and it was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in the dentist office.

I’m a new patient, so I cannot speak to every service line. I will comment on the service thus far. I made a new patient appointment online. I was prompted for confirmation of my appointment bot by phone and by a separate call. Perhaps they get a lot of no-shows. No big deal. I go in for my appointment. They take the x-rays, do a 3D scan of my teeth. The individual (I do not recall her name) begins to to outline how bad my teeth are. I was a bit surprised, and said somewhat in jest "it sounds like the situation is dire." She replied "oh absolutely". I had no cavities. I have a molar that has a crack the right now doesn’t require anything but should be watched She recommended getting a night guard because I do have some significant wear on some of my molars. I agreed to the night guard. I was surprised that there was no cleaning. I was told that would be a different appointment. I made a follow-up appointment, and just went in for it today. It turns out - this was only for the night guard fitting! I did not have an appointment for a cleaning - I was supposed to book that through someone else. I do not know how I would know this, since I am a new patient. Basically, I drove to Squirrel Hill had paid to park to pick up a piece of plastic. In their defense, they did offer to clean my teeth at 11:50. My appointment was at 10:30. I did not want to sit around in their office that long, so I took an appointment in two weeks (so they can then clean my "dire" cavity free teeth.) While I can’t say the bulk of the staff has impressed my so far, there is one person at scheduling/ reception who handled a cancelled appointment with professionalism and care. Kudos to her - which I had caught her name.
