Woman at front desk is not kind nor compassionate, I would actually say she’s borderline confrontational. I showed up at 8:15 for my appointment that was at 8:20, there were no patients in waiting room. She was blunt and unapologetic when she told me that I would not be seen bc I was late and that I had been told by text and voicemail to arrive 20 minutes early. They should tell you in text if you don’t show up early then you’re wasting your time by going. It was first thing in morning and she was already in the back with someone, I know that had they wanted to fit me in they could have but instead they turned me away and told me it was my fault. That is how they conduct business with new patients, and if you’re okay with being treated like you’re a problem by showing up then this is definitely the place for you.

They cancelled my appointment because I was not 20 minutes early to fill out my dentist insurance. I was 5 minutes away when they called me 10 minutes before my appointment to cancel. I was not told that I needed to be early before. You aren’t expected to be 20 minutes early to a dinner reservation or a movie theatre so your dentist appointment shouldn’t be any different.

I originally gave them a five star but when my wife went things changed. Dr. Hodge and some of her staff are really good. This review is for my wife’s visit. We are new in town and picked Hodge Dental. I went to them for a few appointments and they were great. So I thought I found a good dentist but to find out I was wrong. When my wife went to get her teeth cleaned she was told she had Periodontist and when they started to clean her teeth and it was hurting her so they stopped. Dr Hodge was called in to where the dental hygienist was with my wife and I. Dr Hodge saw the problem and agreed that my wife had to have novcane to get her teeth cleaned. So when we were leaving Jammie the receptionist said that her and the hygienists were going to get together and call me. Well they did and they took it upon them selves to decide for my wife what she had to do instead of my wife deciding. They decided to farm her out to someone else because they did not want to deal with someone who had a problem dealing with pain. This could have been handled a better way by letting the patient decide for her self. When I asked Jammie that I wanted to talk to Dr Hodge her response was the doctor is not going to talk to you and then Jammie hung up on me. I later got a phone call from the hygienists around 5 pm and she said they were referring my wife to 2 other places because it was there policy if a patient showed that they were in pain they refused to do any work on them. Both the Hygienist and Jammie were totally unprofessional. I would not recommend that place to anyone. This was not Dr. Hodge making this decision I hope. It was the Hygienist and the receptionist. My question is since when does a receptionist make a decision on a patient.

As someone who does not like going to dentist, I appreciate the care and compassion I get with Dr. Hodge and staff. I’m always nervous and reluctant but they put me at ease and explain everything that is going happen step by step. I love how flexible they can be with my crazy schedule too. Not many are anymore. Additionally, I take my special needs mom in for her appointments and they take care to keep her calm and aware of her needs and medications and treat accordingly.

Have never felt more comfortable at a dentist office before. The staff and Dr. Hodge explain everything that is going on and work at your pace she did not rush anything. Had 4 teeth extracted Dr. was so gentle. I would recommend Dr. Hodge to anyone that has had past bad experiences with a dentist to go see her.
