Dr. Samuel H. Ko, DDS

If I could give zero stars I would. I was pregnant and asked questions about the numbing agents for a procedure I was going to have. Dr Ko answered the question in a very condescending manner. It was not the first time I was treated as such by him in his office. The first time I thought I’d give him the benefit of the doubt, everyone has bad days. No, that was his bedside manner, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a woman or because I’m a woman of color but I had never been treated so awfully in a medical setting. The hygienist even apologized for him after he left. It is very unfortunate because his staff was absolutely amazing. I would not recommend, find a friendlier dentist.

The Doctor is a hit or miss depending on his mood, most of his staff has superiority complex. No one there should be working with children. They schedule you many times for 1 procedure to keep charging your insurance. The front desk staff change rules to their liking. My appointment for my son was at 3:00pm, I showed up at 2:48pm and the front desk told me I was late and told me I had to wait in the lobby with my 2 yr old until someone canceled. I’ve had so many bad experiences in 5 yrs that I found a new dentist for the whole family. I should of left 2 yrs ago when the front desk left my husband waiting in the lobby for 4 hrs even though he had an appointment. We live and learn. People we have choices don’t settle for scraps.

We have been taking my adopted son here for the past two years because this is where he was going when he was in foster care. The staff is very nice, but Dr. Ko is the worst! My son has pretty bad teeth due to the neglect when he was with his biological parents. When he was in foster care he had 11 root canals. My son was getting sick with fevers, vomiting, and ear infections a lot. One morning, he woke up with a swollen cheek and eye. We found out at an urgent care he had an abscess tooth that was severely infected. Dr. Ko refused to pull it and wanted it to fall out naturally. The tooth was making him so sick. We had to take him to my dentist to have it pulled and a spacer put in to prevent crowding. When we brought him back to Dr. Ko, he was so unproffesional and acted like a child because we took him somewhere else. He refused to work on my son and said since we trust the other dentist more we should just take him there. He was very immature about the situation. We found a new dentist for my son. Hoping for better service at his new dentist.

My mom and I have been going to Dr. Ko for over 10 years. He is always very nice, personable, and professional. He is the only dentist that I fully trust. Many years ago another dentist at a different place tried to say my mom needed a $2,000 dollar procedure. We went to Dr. Ko for a second opinion and found out the other place was lying and the procedure was completely unnecessary. After that we switched to Dr. Ko and it’s been great.

Great Staff, Dr Ko is is an excellent Dentist and his office is awesome.
