The worst place they give appointments and they have you waiting in the room for hours. Is ridiculous.

I’m 71 and lived in Bronx NY. I’m legally blind in my right with decreased vision in the left. In 2017 I had 5 extractions done by Dr Osborne (now retired) Because of my age and incapacity, my daughter moved me to NJ, to be close to her. In early 2023 I started having problems with the fit of my dentures. I thought they were squeezing. My insurance did not have a dental plan so I would have to wait until the re-enrollment period to switch. One morning the pain was so terrible. I looked in the mirror and realized that there was a break in my lower gum. I took the point of a tiny knife and pushed in the hole. I felt a piece of tooth. I received Dental coverage from Cigna, in 2024 and kept an appointment with NJ Smiles Dentistry in May. The roots of 2 of the teeth ?previously extracted by Dr Osborne, were extracted. The post pain was excruciating. In October I had to visit the dentist again bc I was again having problems. Surgical extraction of the othet 2 roots was done. I was also placed on antibiotics. I am now waiting for the last root on the left to appear above the gum for it to be extracted. I have been speaking to someone named Donna, who says she is a supervisor. I had told a few persons that if they could not address the problem then I would have to seek legal advice. She promised that she would be able to get me the dentures that I so badly need. Issue is: 1) I live in NJ 2) I’m legally blind and elderly 3) I’m unable to commute alone and has no one to escort me I spoke with Donna today. Her issue is: I have to come to Stevenson Dental in the Bronx and there will be a 5 step procedure to be done. They will do x-rays ( which will not show the 4 roots which have been previously extracted and they will not work with NJ Smiles to obtain proof of the work that was done While she was repeating the fact that they could not help me if i did not come to the Bronx, I told her that I’m sorry I will have to cut her off bc...and she hung up on me. She does not know the art of satisfactorily resolving an issue, is very condescending and seemed preoccupied while conducting the conversation. This Stevenson Medical center is the hardest institution to contact and I’m going to refer them to the State Department of Health for an investigation, in regards to their response time, to calls. I would have rated them a 0 but the person that I spoke with yesterday, LEO, was very courteous, professional and carried through with what he said he would have done. They claimed to open at 8:30am. I arrived for my 9am appointment 5 mins early to see people waiting and the gate down. They have an old grandma with a walker waiting outside in the cold rain to be seen. She can even get sick waiting to be seen. It’s completely unacceptable. If you claim to be open actually open. Or don’t accept appointments so early. Everyone has been waiting outside for at least 30 mins. That’s unacceptable for people looking to come and get better for whatever ailment they have.

I have to say that the patient care at this facility has become simply terrible over the last few years. After being a patient for over 20 years, I have witnessed a significant decline in the quality of service. The administration is what truly makes this place a poor choice for healthcare. If you don’t enjoy interacting with or helping people, you shouldn’t be working in the healthcare field.

Move very slow…i dont understand the point of appointments if they wont be honorable. Everyone might as well just show up all willy nilly. Had an appointment for 1:45, i showed up at 1:20. The waiting room was damn near empty. Finally at 2:15 i get called to the back. They take my vitals, the MA leaves and im still sitting here 30 minutes later. No doctor has came to check on me, nothing.
