Dr Jones and his staff really are good with me. I think they treat me well and I like that they are patient with me. I would rather be somewhere else than the dentist.

I don’t do reviews very often, but this one is warranted. I was seeing Dr. Jones for cleaning and exam. No problem with the dentist at all. When I arrived for my last appointment, the hygienist told me I was due for X-rays. I told her I was fine with that as long as they would be covered by my insurance. I told her I did not want to pay for anything outside of what my insurance allows. I actually said this twice- once when she said she needed to do them, and again when she was doing them. She said ok both times. I received a bill for $150. for X-rays. I called the office and they told me that these particular X-rays would not be covered by my insurance. I explained that I had communicated TWICE that I did not want to pay out of pocket. I also told the person on that phone call that my husband, who is in the same plan I am, had his X-rays at a different dentist done, and that he was completely covered. The person on the phone yelled at me, saying it was MY responsibility to know what was covered. I did call the insurance company and they asked that the dentist call them to work it out(something to do with a billing code). Fast forward to my new dentist. When I called and made the appointment, I explained what had happened at Dr. Jones’ office, and the receptionist at the new dentist said” no problem, we will call and verify your insurance and make sure we don’t do anything you’re not covered for”. I got full X-rays, just like my husband did at his dentist. No charges, no bills. They refused to work with me, my insurance, and blamed ME for the charge. Needless to say, I’m not paying it, and I’ll certainly be warning everyone not to use this dentist!
