Denver West Dental Group-Dr. Sam Kawakami

I was thrilled when we first found this dental office. They seemed polite & professional. As the months went on, my husband and I realized that the dental hygienist, although a lovely lady, was not even close to being thorough. She seemed to clean with no apparent order or method. My teeth never felt as they should afterward. The analysis by the dentist afterward was cursory and lacking any helpful information. This became apparent when my new dentist found gum issues, more tartar than usual and infected gums in some areas. I even have a tooth that needs a root canal… and it has only been about approximately 4 months since my last cleaning/exam. I wanted to like this Denver West Dental Office but the truth is they are not as thorough as I would want.

Great dentist with a great team. They did a crown on one of my front teeth over 4 years ago and I am still very happy with it. Dr. Sam is truly a great guy and does honest work. Always thorough exams and they take the time to explain my dental needs without over-selling products. Very friendly staff and I always look forward to my visit.

Not a good dentist. The hygienists do a fairly good job but that’s where the good ends. Dr. Kawakami doesn’t even do the bare minimum for his patients. Needed to remind him every time to perform an oral cancer exam, barely looked at my teeth every time. When I had a problem with canker sores he wasn’t even familiar with any medication that could help, and the medicine I had previously used and didn’t even think it was for dental problems (even though it has dental paste in the name). I don’t even want to know how he would handle a real problem. Wish I could give a 0/5 stars for the dirty and terrible practice.

I have been coming here my whole life and I cannot say enough great things about this office! Everyone is so kind and helpful, and they put you at ease. They always listen to any concerns and work with me to have personable and excellent care. Everyone seems very knowledgeable, authentic and trustworthy. I have always loved coming here and felt I have received the best quality care! Great place and highly recommend. Dr.Sam is truly the best dentist around!

I have been going to Dr. Sam and Denver West Dental for roughly 25 years. The care and professionalism of the front desk, hygienists and Dr. Sam is second to none. Anytime that someone asks for a Dentist referral I always pass along Denver West Dental. Having been involved in many organizations in my life I have a good gauge of the climate and atmosphere of companies when I am there. The people there truly love their job and it shows. I once broke a tooth on Sunday and Dr. Sam made a special trip to the office to take care of me. He is an extremely skilled dentist who explains exactly what he is doing and puts your mind at ease during any procedure. Truly five stars all around.
