So today I had a second surgery to remove a surgical burr (a piece of a dental instrument) left in my mouth from my wisdom tooth extraction back in 10/2012. The first surgery was unsuccessful in taking it out. Turned out it needed to be drilled out. This burr was discovered as a result of an infection it caused. Due to how far up it was it had to be drilled out & they had to drill into my bone. Due to its location it got sucked out to prevent further trauma. So this is my message to Periodontal world. Please be more diligent and careful when performing your surgeries because the pain and trauma I just went through I would not want anyone else to go through. Make sure you don’t leave any of your surgical pieces and maybe follow up with an x ray to make sure. And to be clear this was the only place I went to for my oral surgeries until this happened.

Periodontal World is where I go for all my dental needs. If they don't offer the service, they will refer you to another top dentist. The staff is very friendly; Dr. Diaz-Norrman is one of the best in Miami. I visit the office at least 3 times a year for yearly cleanings. I took out 4 wisdom teeth and was able to go to work the next day. Highly recommended.
