I was a patient at this office in the mid-2000 but left in 2013 because I moved out of state. I wasn’t happy at this office, but stayed a patient here for 4 years. I wish Dr Tentler would have explained what he planned on doing as far as dental treatment before I signed the consent form that allowed him to do whatever he wanted during cavity treatment. I would not have signed the consent form if I had known root canals and hollowing out the teeth was going to be done. I would never sue a health care professional, but I was angry learning that he hollowed out the teeth and preformed root canals. I feel those procedures should have been explained in the consent form. I felt I should have had a say and I wouldn’t have opted for the new way of doing fillings. I felt what Dr Tentler did was overtreatment, especially since the cavities were not very deep to begin with. Here were I live now I am a patient at a dental office that offers IV sedation. I had a couple fillings that needed fixing. Even though the dentist I go to now used a tool that my gag reflex could tolerate and he was able to fix a filling without having to IV sedate me, it was short lived and fell out again. Now that he no longer has that tool and fixes fillings with cotton swabs in the mouth, my gag reflex can’t handle that. I now have to wait until the tooth decays or another tooth filling cracks before will be sedated. I believe Dr Tentler did the best he could and thought he was doing what he thought was right for me, but I just feel that if root canals were not done and the teeth were not hollowed out I would have been sedated already and the tooth filled again. I just feel patients should have the right to be included in dental treatment decisions.

Dr. Tentler is wonderful. My Daughter has Kabuki Syndrome and is severely disabled/Special Needs. Doctor Tentler is so compassionate and supportive. He did a great job taking care of my daughter. I am so pleased and grateful to have him explain in depth the sedation/IV process as well as everything else. My daughter was so happy to be there and she was comfortable the entire time thank you Dr. Tentler and your staff. I could not be happier with Southwest Dental!!

We had an excellent experience here! My 30 year old son, who has Autism and is non verbal, had an IV sedation cleaning, after going about 3 years without dental care as his dentist retired. Staff is friendly, and Dr Tentler has a wonderful bed side manner- and clearly an understanding of the special needs population- Iv sedation in office, a skilled and compassionate dentist, all in a caring atmosphere!

Our family has been going to Southwest Dental for several years now and it is always a pleasant experience. We have two children, the youngest is on the spectrum and we really appreciate how the staff, dental hygienists, and Drs. Tentler and Pearce are always patient and kind while also taking great care of our teeth. Dr. Pearce even quickly responded to a letter my son wrote to him for his 2nd grade assignment! Great dental office for families!
