I searched online and had help from my local case manager. We found this office through my insurance page. I have Medicare and Medicaid for adults. The staff was friendly up until I told them the type of insurance I have. They didn’t even wait to know how old I was just assumed and immediately and cold heartedly cut me off and replied with "We do not accept this insurance for adults." I repeated myself and asked again feeling extremely discriminated against and defeated as the pain I am in from my tooth is great. I’m currently on antibiotics and wouldn’t even have bothered them if I didn’t urgently need it. But again the staff member on the phone just seemed to want me to get off the phone, cutting me off and just saying "Yup. Yup. No, No, we don’t accept this, bye." It says that they do but I’ve been met with this treatment before. Like I am a nuisance a plaque to humanity for having government assistance medical insurance. This place was the closest to my home only a few blocks away and I was turned away because of my insurance. Just in the tone of voice I could tell. If they are going to reject people with this insurance I recommend the doctor teach it’s staff how to sound empathetic over the phone, maybe avoid people feeling like burdens. I’ve worked customer service all my life and would never dream of making another human being in pain feel this way.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Riggs for at least 20 years. He is excellent. And he chooses excellent staff, also. Consistently. Even his pricing is extremely fair and reasonable. You won’t be disappointed. A strong and unequivocal endorsement for Dr. Michael Riggs and his whole team.

We’ve been going to Dr. Riggs for years--very satisfied. The practice is very organized and Dr. Riggs is very competent and kind--he has a great "chair-side" manner! We have recommended him to friends.

Dr. Riggs was recommended to me and I am forever grateful for that! Dr. Riggs has performed a few dental procedures on me (other than cleanings) and he always takes the time to explain the procedure and answers all of my questions. The cost is very fair and the dentistry is absolutely top notch! I’m equally fond of his staff who has been with Dr. Riggs for years. And, there are no long wait times...you show up at your appointed time and they are ready for you. Best dentist and staff ever!

My appointment this morning was great. I didn’t have to wait very long, and Julie did a great job cleaning my teeth and explaining to me brushing and flossing techniques, as well as other dental information. Julie and Dr. Riggs were both pretty friendly. *edit* I am still going to the same place, and I still think that the staff there is top-notch! I just need to get myself to floss more. :(
