I was really excited to find an African American dentist, but beware. From my experiences the dentist was more concerned with sharing her personal business through conversation with her assistant than she was with what she was doing in my mouth. Because of this, while repairing a cavity, she did not remove everything that needed to be removed, she simply filled it which caused me to experience pain and eventually needed a root canal, then a total extraction. Heartbreaking. She also pulled my little cousins baby tooth before it was ready and he was missing this particular tooth for over 2 years.

I went to a new patient appointment and was greeted by the front office staff. Also the dental assistant that performed my X-rays was pleasant as well. When I met Dr. Doakes she was equally pleasant and thoroughly explained my treatment plan I will be going back next week!

I had a really great experience on my first visit here. As a Black woman looking for a Black dentist I’m glad I found this place. All the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Dr. Doakes has amazing patient care she was very attentive and I’m excited to be in her care.

Everyone at The Smile Salon & Day Spa were SUPER professional and nice!! They were able to get me in under short notice and pulled my infected tooth. The tooth had rotted over time and broke all the way down to the gums. I highly recommend Dr. Doakes and her entire team!!

Before visiting The Smile Salon, I had a fear of dental offices. However, their amazing service and consistently courteous staff have completely changed my perception. Now, I feel comfortable and well-cared for every time I visit. Thank you to everyone in the office. You all are amazing!
