Meng Kimberly A DDS

I know nothing of the dentist herself. I never made it that far. The receptionist was very rude to me on our first visit when she told me they didn’t take our insurance even though I was told they did when I made the appointment. Telling me I should have known they don’t take it and how they owe the doctor several thousands of dollars. So I switched insurances. Made another appointment. It was cancelled due to the doctor not being in the office that day, rescheduled... that one cancelled due to weather... rescheduled, that one also canceled due to freeze in the area... rescheduled. I was called by this rude receptionist and told that my kids need a referral to Dr Meng and it’s not in the system. She proceeded to get loud with me saying that THIS WAS THE REASON THE LAST APPOINTMENT WAS CANCELLED AND I KNEW THIS NEEDED TO BE DONE. no mam, the last 2 appointments were cancelled due to weather. I told her I could call and get it done through the dentist right now, she said no it takes 24-48 hours for it to be processed and I knew this needed to be done, i said no mam, this is the first i’m hearing of this, during me saying this she got loud talking over me and started yelling, so I proceeded to get loud back with her saying I can get loud too and now we are both loud and neither one of us can tell what the other is saying. She then hung up on me. I contacted Dr. Mengs other office in N.O. who were very nice and understanding and said they would notify Dr. Meng of how this lady spoke to me. I further explained that I unfortunately have heard Dr. Meng is a great oral surgeon, but I don’t want to visit that office with that receptionist being there. After calling my kids dentist they pulled up the referral in the system which was in the insurances system. They have now referred us to another Dr. I do not recommend the Hammond office. The receptionist is very rude.

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone based on how she treated my best friend. She woke up in the middle of surgery not to mention other complaints. Highly recommend not going to her. Find a different dentist at all costs.

The receptionist is HORRIBLE. Quite possibly the rudest in all of Louisiana. I don’t understand how she’s kept her job. The first experience calling for an appointment was horrendous. I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience. She would ask a question, then as I’d try to answer, she’d either cut me off angrily, or cut me off to put me on hold. This happened multiple times. She also hung up on me twice. On my 5th call back, I finally got an appointment. Today, tried to call to set my appointment for surgery, and pretty much the same thing happened, except I didn’t get to make the appointment. It’s unfortunate because the actual dentist, Kimberly Meng, is great. I’m not sure what to do about this. I’ve read other reviews about this office & saw that many others have the same issue with the receptionist. This is appalling. I’m unsure that the Dr realizes how incompetent her staff is.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. I had no problems with Dr. Menu. Dr. Meng and her staff were awesome! They were very professional. She removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth, which were impacted teeth. Meng explained everything she was going to do thoroughly. She performed the surgery, and I was good-to-go. I had no problems or complications.

When we made our appointment, they didn’t save any of our contact information and failed to contact us when they stopped taking our insurance. Very poor communication skills, not to mention how unprofessional that is to have 2 people take off a day of work to travel out of parish. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!
