Shiny Chompers Pediatric Dentistry

My son is coming up on his first birthday and has one tooth. I was suggested shiny chompers so I called to make an appointment. I was rudely brushed off by the women who answered the phone. She told me they do not start seeing children until they are 18 months old, when I question it she stated that’s just “what they do there”. Not only is that a contradiction to what is posted on the website,(see photo) it goes against the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics which states children should see the dentist with 6 months of their first tooth or shortly after their first birthday. That’s a red flag to me. So I decided to take my business elsewhere. I’m disappointed because the come highly recommended

We’ve know Dr. Richie since my oldest was at CMMS. She always made such a Great impression on us. Recently two of my girls had cavities filled ☹️. My oldest developed an infection on the same side of her mouth that she had her tooth worked on. As a mom I was super worried since her lymph nodes were so swollen behind her left ear and under her throat. I called Shiney Chompers knowing they were closed, but it allowed me to connect to the Doctor on call so I could leave a message. Within minutes Dr. Richie called me back. We spoke she asked for me to send pictures. She let me know if I needed anything to give her a call. Long winded story however this is the type of Dentist you don’t see anymore. Someone who is willing to have you contact if needed ❤️ Shiney Chompers is the truly the BEST pediatric dentist!!!! Also know her husband is an Oral surgeon we are having my little girls teeth done by him.

My daughter has been going here since 2020, and they are amazing! My little one has anxiety, and I love how they work with her and make her feel so comfortable. Courtney, the Dental Hygienist, was super great with my little one today that I have no words the happiness I felt as a parent. Thank you Shiny Chompers!! ❤️❤️

Update: My kiddo is almost 6 now; we still go here and it is just as wonderful! Such a wonderful experience! My kiddo (3) was SO anxious about going to the dentist. The staff were amazing. You can tell they 100% specialize in pediatrics and know every trick in the book to make children feel comfortable and in control of the experience and their bodies. We are so grateful to Courtney for your fun and patience and to Dr. Richie for your reassurance and for establishing such a fine practice.

We have been seeing Dr. Richie and her team for a few years. Ms. Kim is our favorite hygienist and she makes my son laugh all the time. The entire staff is kind, caring and compassionate. They are thoughtful and intentional in how they speak to the kids about dental care. My son doesn’t love visiting the dentist but he’s turned a corner in feeling comfortable and confident in his visits thanks to the team. Thanks for the amazing care and kindness -we are so grateful!
