Mendelson Family Dentistry, PA

Great office. I can get my dental work done free elsewhere but I choose to pay to get it done here. I work with Josie and she is absolutely awesome, really good at what she does, and super cute. Sorry that last part was my phone acting up again. Anywho, I would 100% recommend them.

Wow, what can I say, Dr Herbie and Mendelson Family Dentistry are the best Maryland has to offer. I always dreaded going to the dentist as a kid and now as an adult I actually dont mind it. Dr Herbie is a perfectionist and the most amazing Dentist hands down. He always make you comfortable in the chair and sometimes his jokes are funny (jk, they are always funny) but I have always had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and the practice is well run by management and especially their Office Coordinator who is also a magnificant at scheduling my appointments and assisting Dr Herbie in the chair as well when needed. Everyone at the practive always makes you feel welcome, and also my hygenist Gen is great and cleans my teeth the best. I have been going to this office for 20 years and have always had a pleasant experience. If you want to see the best Dentist in Maryland then Dr Herbie AKA Dr Tactical is your man!

What a HORRIBLE experience we had with Dr. Herbert Mendelson. We are new to MD and I originally got a cleaning with Dr. Harold Mendelson (which I assume is Herbert’s father) and he was lovely. I assumed my teenage kids and family would get the same service and boy was I wrong. My teenage son unfortunately got Dr. Herbert instead of Dr. Harold and I can not tell you how different the experience was. His office had made a mistake in scheduling, which unfortunately impacted us, and rather than taking responsibility for their miscommunication with us he rudely told us he was running behind and had other patients waiting so was unable to provide the services I had scheduled. My son goes to college out of state so his time in MD is limited which they were well aware of and Dr. Mendelson could care less. I was in disbelief at the way he spoke to my teenager. He was beyond rude and disrespectful. He was just as horrible to me and I overheard him speak similarly to his staff. I’ve never had a "professional" speak to me or anyone like that. He was more fixated on finding out who at the front desk made the mistake rather than using that time to fix my son’s teeth. We left their office with no service provided and my son still in pain. I am in awe that this man has a practice at all. I’m sad to think of what the practice will look like once Dr. Harold Mendelson retires. I think he would be ashamed of how his son treated us today.

This morning I visited Mendelson Family Denistry for a routine cleaning visit. I frequent Mendelson Family Dentistry, as I am a huge fan of their DENTAL work. This morning I was confronted by an extremely rude receptionist- Kelly. This wasn’t a surprise to me, as I’ve been treated rudely by their front desk staff in the past. I remained patient and worked with Kelly while she sighed and seemed very annoyed and irritated with my simple request (assistance switching over to my new insurance provider). Kelly sighed over and over again and didn’t provide any additional assistance or helpful tips to my concerns. Fed up with Kelly’s eye rolling and sighing, I told her, “You don’t seem very friendly.” Her response with a smile, “and neither do you”… I proceeded to book my next appointment and left the office feeling disgusted and disrespected. You would think and hope that the front desk staff at a family dentistry treats you with kindness and serves you with a GENUINE smile on a morning weekday as opposed to facetious remarks and annoyed behavior. I will be letting all my family, friends, and subscribers know about the horrible experience I had this morning. I spoke highly of the Family Dentistry’s dental work in the past, but that is now completely overlooked after this ongoing mistreatment at the beginning of my appointments. I hope Kelly finds work that brings her joy and doesn’t continue taking her hostility out on loyal clients. This is a horrible face of the Mendelson Family Dentistry.

I highly recommend Mendelson family dentistry! My family and I have been patients of theirs for many years. The office atmosphere is upbeat, friendly, and caring. Seeing all of the pictures of their family and amazing destinations around the world is such a warm and personal touch. Everyone is professional and compassionate. They are thorough and knowledgeable, and keep up with the latest technology. They have always been available whenever we had an emergency (such as my son losing a tooth when playing baseball). They clearly explain what they were doing and any issue that may need to be addressed. They really care about your well-being. Dr. Mendelson and Dr. Herbie are the absolute best! I look forward to seeing them as well as Jen, the hygienist. They always treat you like family. I believe my teeth and gums are healthier because of their care. Mendelson family dentistry provides the quintessential dental experience!
