Smile Doctors

Dr. Forche is now called Smile Doctors located in Pickerington, OH. At first the hygienists and doctor were very friendly, but when I started having issues with my jaw being misaligned, they completely dismissed my concerns and gaslighted me even when I told them that my soft palate was twisted. The technician looked at it and said, "It’s not that bad." It’s not that bad?! Umm... I’m not a doctor, but I believe one’s soft palate shouldn’t be twisting AT ALL! Plus it was VERY uncomfortable. I could tell they were starting to rush my treatment starting in May of 2020 as I started in Sept. 2019, right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, so not only were they a shell of a business during the pandemic, but they also had to merge w/ a different practice called Smile Doctors. They were great up until during COVID-19 happened, and they started cancelling my appts right and left. The message I received said that if anyone had a missed appt due to the pandemic that patients don’t have to do anything and that they would be called for a virtual exam. I never got a call, and when I called to schedule that virtual exam, I got their voicemail, left a message, (this was the beginning of the week) and never received a returned call. When I called the following week to inquire about a virtual exam due to my condition worsening, the technician was curt and said my issue wasn’t possible and couldn’t be caused by my braces. I received a second opinion, and what’d happened is I was starting to get a cross bite on my right row of teeth. The woman who told me what I was describing to her that bothered me was a hygienist, not an orthodontist. To make matters worse, she’d never looked in my mouth to even make that judgment--not that she’s qualified to. Then I asked about making an appt, and she said they weren’t taking patients until June and never offered to make a June appt as by that point she was trying to rush me off the phone. She also never offered a virtual exam that I was supposed be called back to schedule in the first place. She just said they couldn’t help me right now and ushered me off the call w/ a snarky goodbye. I was so angry and frustrated to tears that I didn’t even say goodbye back. So needless to say, I decided to end treatment early as my brackets kept falling off, and the new ones from the new practice they merged together with (Smile Drs) had taller brackets than the ones I’d been used to causing my teeth to be out of alignment. Every other tooth was slanted inward on the new brackets, and on the smaller, older brackets my teeth were in the correct place. So I decided to cut ties w/ Dr Forche w/ my braces still on. What he didn’t warn me about was that orthodontists in the Greater Columbus Area have a pact with each other, so they WILL NOT see you even if you can’t breathe—my issue multiplied by 10. Each orthodontist I saw told me the same thing almost verbatim, “Those look beautiful. You should go back to Forche and have your braces taken off and a retainer made.” 😡 Not only did my jaw feel like it was developing TMJD, but I couldn’t even go back to Forche if I *wanted* to which I didn’t. So I kept looking, and looking, and looking for a new orthodontist to finish my re-treatment and fix what Forche did quick and dirty—to give you an idea of how quickly he wanted me out of braces, after 2 adjustments and $4k he wanted to take them off. Thankfully he changed his mind, but I DO NOT recommend Dr Forche in Pickerington. I had to take my own braces off AND I couldn’t find someone for a year due to COVID-19 backlogs. Plus, I didn’t have a retainer, so my teeth narrowed back up just as if I never paid $4k for braces in the first place. I’m now on my 3rd re-treatment.

Great staff and service. I did Invisalign and had quite crooked teeth,l. They got them aligned, even made extra trays when adjustments were needed at the end.

Dr. Forche and his staff are amazing! Everyone at the office has been very friendly and helpful! When I had issues with my treatment, they got me in very quickly and I’ve been very satisfied with my results!

This is my 2nd daughter to go to Dr Forche . I have nothing but good things to say about the process and the staff. Everyone is friendly and so helpful. She did Invisalign it has been so much easier than braces! I highly recommend them.
