TERRIBLE. Do NOT go here under any circumstance! I am pregnant and was refused care and my prescription I needed for an ongoing issue Dr Duncan was aware about putting my health and the health of my unborn child at risk, but did it regardless. The staff are so rude, passive aggressive and made me jump through loop holes, only to be told I couldn’t be seen/ and I couldn’t be prescribed the medication I needed. This is not a standalone issue. The place is a mess. Staff always changing -- none have a clue what is going on. I never write reviews, but I am so appalled by this place, people need to know - especially when it comes to a person’s heath and wellbeing, places like this should NOT be in operation. I wish I listened to the reviews as this place is honestly shocking

So sad to see this place deteriorate so quickly. I was a patient for 6 years without a issue. The professionalism and competence of the current back office staff has slid so far beyond acceptable standards that I no longer feel comfortable getting care from them with so many other dental offices available

Dr. Duncan’s office is a complete sham and will not honor your privacy. Do not go there. I was told my appointment was for 9am for a 90 minute new patient appointment which was to include everything to get me caught up with my care. The day before they told me they needed me to come in at 8:45am. I was the only patient in the office the whole time I was there, which was a red flag already. They did X-Rays then took me back to the room, where the schedule of other patients, with their information, was on a screen right in front of me, clearly a violation of the other patients’ privacy. The assistant told me the hygienist was not in so I would have to reschedule my cleaning. I told them that scheduling was difficult for me and that I had made the appointment one month prior, scheduling out of work for 2 hours to get everything done. I also told the assistant that, if I would not have a cleaning, I wanted to bypass the small talk and get out of there sooner and at least get some time back. Dr Duncan then came in and told me he heard I was concerned I would not have a cleaning. I explained my scheduling difficulties, including that I am a working single mom. Dr. Duncan told me he was not going to have me as a patient and told me to leave. He did not apologize or attempt any solution. I had already been there for an hour and all I got were X-Rays.

Dr. Duncan has been my family dentist since my girls were kids. They are in their 50’s now, had their International Adventures and are back in the Hood again. We all love him.

We are new to the Portland area and have moved several times through the country and have experienced a few Dentists in our time. This has been the worst experience from the start. First, it took them a couple months to get me in for x-rays. I had called in April and I wasn’t able to get in until June (not too bad as most places are booked). Second, they cancelled the day of in July of 2021 because they scheduled "too many people" on that day. They claimed they had called to reschedule but I never received a call, voicemail, text or email. After calling a few times, it wasn’t until the end of November they were able to get me in (they were claiming to only able to do December which I found to be way too late from the June appointment). Once in, they performed a cleaning, a few weeks later I received a bill that was higher than what a deep cleaning should be so we called to ask what it was for. They claimed it was for a "deep cleaning". Let me tell you - I have had one before, and that was not it or their version of "deep cleaning" isn’t actually a deep cleaning. Needless to say we will not be returning to this place. There are several other minor items that were not pleasant on my overall experience that I dont really care to share so I will just leave it at that.
