Hilltop Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics

my experience with hilltop smiles is not one I was hoping for. The surgical assistants AMAZING so kind so funny the front desk workers as well so kind. Once it go to my wisdom teeth removal the lady was so cold so rude and lectured me atleast three time of things out of my control. I do not! recommend this dentistry. I love their sister clinic with all my heart and was hoping I would get the same experience here and boy was I so wrong … this is also my first time leaving a bad review because I feel so strongly about not going here .

I have been going here for almost a decade and have had nothing but great experiences. They do same day crowns and I have got 3 of them done here and they even warranties one with no problem This place is pretty thorough and I would recommend it to anyone.

This was my first visit to establish care and get a cleaning. Cynthia my hygienist, Sophia (I think this is her name) did my X-rays, and Dr. Di Carlo are all excellent. I don’t know the girls name at the front desk who checked me in and went over the cost of my services but she was great as well. I liked that they were transparent about the cost of services and went over how much insurance would cover vs how much I would be paying that day. Overall I’m very happy with my experience!

Not once was I told that they were not in network with my insurance. They tried to make me pay for an oral consultation then was told that my insurance wouldn’t cover sedation which my insurance covers at 100%. They were going to charge me way more than I should have been l. Again throughout whole appointment I WAS NOT told they were out of network ! They are greedy and out for your money!! In short: this clinic is charging multiple times higher than other clinics we have been to and recommending us service that is not necessary. We came to this location because their Gladstone one closed. I was recommended to have the night guard. I got it in this location, paid $200 (after insurance) and it never works, it gave me jaw pain for over 3 weeks. I will never wear it again. Dr. Tuit is very nice and knowledge but the office staff are horrible. They did not provide copy of paid invoice as promised for four times until I went to the office in person. They did not explain the options to me and had me to sign a bill to pay for over $800 for the very expensive crown that they did it with the inhouse 3D printing(after insurance). My insurance shows the negotiated cost is $870, they get $400 something from the insurance and still charge me $800. The office manager agreed to call me back to explain why it was billed like that but never returned my call after I called back multiple times. I scheduled my husband to do check up but they recommended expensive deep cleaning like $350 after insurance (my husband had cleaning every 6 months). Made him put down $50 deposit and refused to refund to us after I called to cancel the treatment and asked for refund via multiple calls. I am taking my whole family away from this clinic.
