Butchered my thin bio type gums. Initial visit was to review tissue above front two teeth that was lasered out during veneer prep. Dr.Cutler said yes, tissue very high, nothing can be done, have to live with the look but not infected. Noted in chart that my plaque control and gum tissue was good. Recommended a cleaning, bring prudent, I agreed. Never was told they would use harsh gritty aluminum solution and prophy jet and separate all my gums from my teeth, left black triangle spaces everywhere, exposed yellow dentin, food now gets caught between all my teeth and under gums. Never told I would need a healing appointment, a what? After just a cleaning? This was no ordinary cleaning. I now have periodontinitis, gaps at gumline that gather food, constant bleeding, need gum graphs. My teeth are loose, they have shifted, my lower jaw has sunken in all around my mouth. I look so poor like I never had dental hygiene in my life. My entire mouth is destroyed. Told dentist I was devastated at result and never was told that gums would potentially be moved and dentin exposed. His response was"what did you expect? You walked into a periodontist." I walked in to specifically view tissue above front 2 teeth that was injured during veneer prep. I never asked for antpything more. I would have just gone to a regular dentist for routine cleaning as I was due. I expected an explanation that this eould be more than a cleaning, an explanation of treatment and potential outcome. I was only told this was a cleaning. Other dentists use sodium bicarbonate, Dr. Cutler told me when I came back it was something other than that, aluminum but when I asked for my chart to move to a specialist he now says it was sodium bicarbonate, it did not taste salty, it was not sodium bicarbonate. My life is destroyed from the mouth trauma and destruction that is far beyond cosmetic. My teeth are loose without proper gum support, they have shifted, my face is caving in. My lower jaw around mipy mouthnus sinking in like a person with bad dentures. I look horrible. Constant bleeding gums and food lodged between tooth with every bite harmed my entire health and life. Truly Life altering, everyone is shocked when they see me. I am Devastated.

I usually don’t write reviews, however I hate going to the dentist. I just had a very good experience that I needed to share. While eating a nut I thought I might have broken a tooth inside. I was experiencing excruciating nerve pain in my gums and side of my head. I went to the ER on a Sunday night where I received no help; luckily the next morning I was able to get an immediate appointment at Ft. Washington Periodontics. Dr. Cutler was quick in figuring out what tooth was the "root" of he problem causing me so much pain and in discussing what my options were. I needed to go see one of my medical specialists in center city prior to any surgical procedure whom I see for other health related issues. I also knew I needed to get this tooth out today cause I couldn’t stand a second more of this terrible jolting pain. But in true Philly fashion I found myself in a traffic dilemma around 4:30pm and when I phoned Dr. Cutler’s office crying in pain saying I was unsure if I would make it in time for my extraction before the office closed, they assured me Dr. Cutler would not leave me hanging. Thankful to say he did not. Dr. Cutler and his staff made this tooth extraction a far better experience then I would have ever expected. The doctor and his staff were wonderful in keeping me calm during the procedure and went over everything after the surgery. They even checked in on me that evening and the following morning to see how I was doing and to see if I had any questions. It was a comforting feeling knowing that I was in the experienced hands of extremely well qualified Periodontist. My overall health and any dental procedure I have is a major concern for me, it could be life threatening and so It is of utmost importance that I choose the right doctor. I entrusted Dr. Cutler and was extremely satisfied with the service I received and I recommend Ft. Washington Periodontics
