I am only doing this review as to give others an honest insight as to what I have seen happen at this establishment. I have been a client at this dentist for my two daughters for at least 6 years. While we loved it at the start, over the past several years I have had some concerns. The hygenists always are amazing and we will sure miss them, but the care that my youngest has received has been a bit alarming. A cavity that I was told "oh it’s not a big deal it can wait" oh this filling done in 2021 will need to be done as I’m seeing it was not sealed correctly and it’s causing decay underneath.(ummm how has this not been seen at each cleaning over the last year) oh wait it was seen on the X-rays, but was just being monitored ummm no if it was a concern then it should had been addressed. After this appointment I immediately pulled her from their practice. Then today after looking at claims that were denied by my insurance well it would be that one filling that (fell off just about 6 months after it was done was not covered cause it’s considered additional work on a tooth) which means FULL COST ON A FILLING please fillings should not fall off. I requested all documents and X-rays be sent to the new provider. Today at the new provider while looking through the file, it was discovered only X-rays from 2018 were provided ummm funny where are all the X-rays from two visits a year from 2018, and the ones just done on 12/1/2023. I would recommend you second guess everything, be an advocate. Call them out cause something is not right.

I was looking for a new dentist for my kids after moving to Maine. I wanted a pediatric dentist because one of my kids has unusually high anxiety about dentists. Both my kids were very anxious going into their first appointment, but the staff was wonderful- warm and welcoming. When one of my kids got extremely anxious (before they had even gotten into the chair), Chelsea walked them through every tool, every step, every product that would be used. When that didn’t solve things, she offered to take him to another room and gave him some choices to let him feel more in control. Her attitude and patience made ALL the difference for him, and he was able to get through the appointment. Having been through a lot of really difficult appointments with him, this one was really great in comparison. I am so appreciative of their entire staff, and especially Chelsea.

Best experience! Just left there today with my 2 year old son for his first check up! I was so nervous leading up to the appointment and now I’m not sure why! Everyone was so loving, patient, and friendly. They’re totally used to little ones, and don’t make you feel all anxious if your kiddo isn’t cooperating. They handled it all with such grace, and therefore my son was able to get a nice thorough check up with no tears! Thankful for them! We will be recommending this place to all!!

I was very skeptical of trying out Children’s Dentistry based on having read previous reviews, however, after my first experience with a limited exam for my son, I chose to completely transfer all dental care for both of my children to this office. There are many aspects of the visit I could review favorably here, but the one that is most important to me is how my children were treated collectively by each member of the staff with whom we interacted. The office philosophy is to build rapport with the kids, while the parents/caregivers fade into the background and handle the "boring adult stuff." My children were treated as participants in their care as opposed to just having to listen while they were talked about. My only concern about continuing care is the policy on missed appointments; that being said, I understand why it has been implemented.

I love Children’s Dentistry!!! When we first started there, there were a few "rules" they had I didn’t care for. Such as the one time we were 4 minutes late, because of traffic, there were no cars in the parking lot and they would not take us, even though we drive an hour each way to go there, but policies are policies! I was not happy about it, I wish they had bent the rules but their policies are there for a reason!!! You can guaranty we were never late again. I have also taken my children to several places and looking into other places I realized how wonderful they are in comparison. The staff could be slightly friendlier but I understand that they are extremely busy. I always want to go in with my child and he’d prefer to have me there, but with the laughing gas, I could not. He did great, and everything was fine. I realized I was being over cautious. And the staff did allow me to peek in, in between. I did have to bring another adult or get a sitter when I brought both the boys, another policy, but again for a good reason! One of their newer doctors, male, does not fit the mold there, I thought he was a little rough, but Dr. Marc and his wife have always been amazing. The hygienists would let my son stand for his cleanings when he was younger because of his attention span. My other son was very antsy and the dentist was very stern and took control of the situation, which I thought was fabulous. I want my boys to know that if you don’t brush your teeth, that is where you’ll have to go to fix the problem and its not all rainbows and unicorns. And prizes are to reward good behavior! I had to call on a weekend once, because of pain in my child’s tooth and Dr. Marc answered the phone even though he was away on a vacation. I know they are a business but considering all things I could not be happier with them. More importantly my children love it there!
