I was referred to Dr. Saltz by my regular dentist for evaluation of a dental implant that is about 15 years old, and of a gum pocket near one of my molars. I have never before been told I have any sort of generalized gum disease. I go for regular checkups and cleanings and floss every day. I have no bleeding when I floss and when the hygienist cleans my teeth she has never said there is any problem of any sort. Nevertheless, at my visit to Dr. Saltz, after a speedy examination that went so fast I don’t know how he could have had time to evaluate the situation, Dr. Saltz told me I have rampant gum disease all over my mouth, bone loss everywhere, and needed scaling of my entire mouth plus a surgery on the implant. I asked him why, then, has no dentist ever mentioned these things to me before, and he just shrugged. I asked him whether the difference between my old X-rays and the new ones taken in his office showed progressive bone loss, and he said he didn’t have the old X-rays. I was uncertain what this all meant, and so I went to a second (also highly recommended) periodontist for a consult. He said my gums and teeth looked good, the dental implant had a few problems but didn’t need surgery at this time (just needed to be periodically X-rayed to see if anything changes), and gave me a few options for work he might do to fix the molar pocket. The experience and the recommendations between Dr. Saltz and the second periodontist were like night and day. The second visit conformed with my regular dentist’s evaluation. I leave you to draw your own conclusions about what might have been going on that led Dr. Saltz to say what he did.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Jeffrey Saltz for over 25 years. In that time, I have found him to be extremely professional, exceptionally knowledgeable and a totally nice, caring, kind human being besides. I also recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Wilson and I found her to be the same caliber as Dr. Saltz. Recommend highly.

A Review of a Visit to Jeffrey Saltz by Jayne Petersen I recently saw Dr. Saltz as he was referred by my dentist to treat a cyst between two of my teeth. He told me there would not be any additional charge for the two X-rays that were taken, presumably to see the cyst. He then said said that I would need to have all of my gums scraped and the cyst would resolve itself. I have seen a periodontist for years in New York and knew that his diagnosis was a gross exaggeration. I decided to give some thought to this diagnosis and went to the desk to set up appointments His secretary informed me that Dr. Saltz had no open appointments available and I would be notified if someone cancelled. Obviously I am not available five days a week in every time period. This annoyed Dr Saltz who had charged $140. for a missed diagnosis and now is charging me for the x rays as well. There are many good dentists and periodontists in New Hampshire, unfortunately he is neither competent nor honest.

I am a referring general dentist that actually practices over 40 minutes away from Dr. Saltz. I have never found a more sensitive, knowledgable and responsible practitioner. He stays ahead of the curve within our profession.
